1st Post Op Visit

I had my first Postop visit, 9 days after my surgery. My one drain was pulled today and it didn't hurt one bit but boy was I scared! It felt like a light tickling sensation, strange but not painful. The opening where the drain was stiched in place bothered me quite a bit though, glad to have it out!

I have been recovering better than expected, even my surgeon is surprised. No pain (except if I cough/sneeze), I do feel a burning sensation down the middle of my abdomen on occasion, my breasts have not been painful at all although I feel soreness and my incisions itch at times, I have been walking completely upright since yesterday but still feeling a lot of tightness, amazingly I have no bruising but quite a bit of swelling in both my breast and abdomen (keep in mind he didn't do any lipo).

Even though I am doing well I was urged to take it easy, not to lift anything over 5 lbs, after one more week use brown tape (provided by my doctor) for a month and then he will provide me with some type of scar treatment/stuck/tape, I can do light exercise like walking but no core exercise and no exercise using my arms.), ok to drive and to return to desk job. I must continue to wear my abdomen binder and was instructed that it will likely become loose over the next few weeks at which time I can go to a second stage garment or Spanx. My next appt is a month.

I am posting a few pics but I think they look just like the previous ones.

I am so happy I did this for myself! I still have a long way to go but o couldn't/wouldn't have done it without all of the information, support, and inspiring stories of all you amazing Real Selfers!!!

Healing Comfortably

I am progressing along pretty well. I've not needed prescription pain meds since yesterday and i'm walking more upright each day though still hunched over a bit. I have pretty good range of motion in my arms. I am able to get in and out of bed on my own since yesterday morning. I haven't been in any piercing/acute pain (except when some food went down the wrong pipe and I coughed, THAT was painful). I am very swollen in my abdomen/waist and my new boobies are tight and swollen.

My hubby has been caring for me like a mother hen and I definitely needed him to assist me the first two days because I couldn't get in and out of bed or reposition myself with out his help. Plus it has been nice to have him administer my meds especially initially because I was so drowsy. I occasionally get a burning sensation down the middle of my abdomen which I suspect is from the muscle repair.

I am very happy I went through with this mommy makeover. Even with the swelling I can see so much improvement. I have some concern with my belly button but it's too early to yet to be sure how it will look once the swellings down. I will mention my concern on Thursday at my first postop but in not going to obsess over it. I'm going to put up two pics, that's all I've had a chance to take! I will try to take a few more clearer ones when I shower tonight.
