Worth It
Spent: $500 in Atherton

I want to tell you that Fraxel does hurt..get a friend to drive you and take a pain pill or anti anxiety pill that your dr gives you.. It was worth it..  I think if you have severe acne you need to have them filled with a filler after your treatments.. it can reduce the scars but the pits need to be filled and you will look great. No pain no gain..it is expensive and the machine is expensive for the drs to own...I am a huge believer in Fraxel and Fraxel repair.

Hi Human collagen around your eyes is good since it doesnt clump.. To find a good Dr.. in your area for fraxel.. just make sure they are board certified..in derm or plastic and reconstructive surgery.. for either fillers or lasers... I read where some drs were injecting Radiesse which is a no no under the eyes.. since it can really lump up.. human collagen doesnt last long unfortunately though.. but gets the job done..

Fraxel Repair has ruined my face. It has been 2 months and I can’t wear sunscreen, I am scarred, when there were no scars before, I have had a biopsy due to the raised lumps that the laser caused, and even the pathologist can’t identify the laser induced disfigurement. My doctor has been great, but left to dry by the manufactures of Fraxel Repair. I believe people need to know the risk; I am putting together a u tube video of my downward spiral. Please email me if you have had a negative effect and would like me to add your pictures or stories.

I think you should contact a specialist.. The dr wont admit if they went too deep obviously. What kind of Dr did you go to.. also..time will heal you.. It seems like you should contact the Repair people direct. Where do you live.. what area.. I am married to a plastic surgeon..who does Repair and he has had amazing results on everyone.. Did you take antibiotics before or were you using retin A... just trying to help you.. this should not have happened.. and want to help. I had repair and look years younger.. I am so sad for you that you had a bad experience but want you to tell us the dr and believe I can find out who you should contact.. make sure to wear a hat everyday to protect your skin until you heal.

Same problem after one blue dye restore session..I'm coming up on 20 months and it keeps getting worse..Like a radiation ulcer or burn it looked lumpy with white streaks and patches that turn into to deep sores and scars The docs are clueless as to what to do....I went to the best Plastic Surg for the procedure.. and then my Derm for another opinion after the damage when I couldn't get a answer as to what to do...he has the new repair laser. who performed it and the bI'm getting ready to go to Hopkins

Hi It will tighten it and reduce your wrinkles.. My husband..a plastic surgeon..likes to use human collagen under eyes..it is a really hard place to inject.. and do that after your Fraxel.. it really works for me... Please make sure to go to a really good derm or plastic surgeon who is board certified in plastic surgery or dermatology.. you should always be careful with your face.. T

Hi, I had it done two weeks ago for crepeyness and wrinkles around eyes and I'm very happy so far.

I have had two Fraxel treatments in La Jolla (neck & chest) and have two more to go - NO PAIN whatsoever . . . the practitioner numbs me up for an hour prior to commencing the laser treatment. I have slight redness after the procedure that goes away by evening but that is about it. I drive myself to and from ther appointment. I had a short scar facelift and breast augmentation 4 weeks ago . . . the Fraxel is the final touch on my mid-life overhaul. I am doing Fraxel on the neck instead of a necklift - I really love the results so far.

Several posters do not mention which Fraxel treatment they had done. I had fraxel repair done 3 months ago in Charlotte,NC and I love the results. The 1st 4 days I hardly recognized myself, I was so swollen. I had my neck and face done and I'm glad I did both at the same time. I feel so much better about myself. I still have some wrinkles but I notice the biggest difference around my eyes, neck and jowls. I think the results depend on the settings of the machine. My eyes were set at 30% density &25 mj,neck@40% & 30mj, and face @ 40% and 60mj. I'm not sure, but I think the swelling may be at least partially due to the dental blocks. It seems like there were about 20 blocks. I never had much pain, but the discomfort from the swelling and constant oozing was miserable. I would advise sleeping in a chair for a couple of days as the face swells when you lay down. Mornings are the worst. The first day I woke up and looked in the mirror, I got weak and almost passed out it was so horrible looking. You'll love the results for wrinkles, but ask about the settings and discuss the mj as well. They say 4-5 days, but there was no way I could go out for a week and then I looked beet red. I'm still redder in the neck and chin area. I hope this helps someone

To lovemyobx, I live in Charlotte and am interested in this procedure for wrinkles in the perioral area. I'm a little fearful of doing a laser around my eyes since my skin there is still crepy from a microlaser peel done a few years back. Could you provide me with name of your physician in private. Thanks very much.

Hi I live in Charlotte as well and am wanting to know who did your laser? I was looking at {edited} to do mine. Is that who you went to? Are you connected with {edited} somehow? Anyways, people talk about this like it is a miracle. I have crepe skin around my chin from acne and over all creeping laxity at 45. Who did your work? Are you still pleased in August? Can you send pictures? I'd love to know. Nancy8845 Editor note You must be contacted privately to receive the information you requested. To contact another user privately click on their username.

The fraxel website is not the best place to find your doc....My doc is on the site and in retrospect he doesn't have a clue..and is new at this procedure.... You have to ask specific questions... How many have you done with my skin type?? Waht type of complication are you aware of?? What is your procedure if they happen??? Don't settle for vague answers I've had amazing results with yadi yadi..... Could be one person!!! That is not experience with this technology... You must be specific take a list of questions so you don't get off base... Finding a doctor that has extensive experience with new technology id imparative to success..... They can get experience on somewhere else....You are paying about the same amount... Get the best ... This is your FACE!!!!! Sorry docs but you would get the best if it was your face.... If someone is learning this procedure they need to start with the body and procede slowly... The company should provide free tips for practice or treatments on severe cases for practice...Not paying customers with minor issues... To many are going to town from the get go,,, without proper training a indepth understanding of the laser or skin ect and causing major problems....

The blue dye is a thing of the past. Some good advice above when considering any procedure. It is hard to respond when you dont know what complication you had from that dr. and if so you should report it to the company so they can send their trainer over. I would ask how many fraxels have you performed? How many complications have happened with you and what are they? what is the real down time? Are you a board certified derm or plastic surgeon..? We dont want a gyno who does fraxel after a weekend course or even botox for that matter.. What is their training in? I am sorry but dentists, gynos, internests etc.. Fraxel website is a good place to start but referrals from happy patients are even better. I am the host of Beauty Now and married to board certified plastic surgeon who was the first here to get a machine and trains drs... Also, who does the procedure, the nurse or dr? Good advice above but expand on it.. The company does train Drs. and sometimes the DRs get overzealous but my husband has never had a problem with any patient. The thing that happens is your face can be swollen, you can break out, and some people have no problems at all.. It is worth it in the end. I have seen amazing reversal of sun damage and problem skin.. A Good Dr should be doing about 10 Fraxels per week at least.. nbtt

I am sorry you ladies have had such problems. I have been involved with the Fraxel Laser since the very beginning, and have never had such problems. There are many specialists that are aavailable to your physicians that can help review your treatment protocol, your response and make some recommemndations. It is important to have a vast understanding of how laser physics inter react with skin and skin cells. I always recommend that laers be used in well trained physicians hands. This is a medical procedure and should be treated as such, using consultation reviewing patient expectaions and discussing variable options, appropriate patient education, and informed consent. Fraxel technology is well researched and is proven within the research. Again sorry you have experienced problems with your treatments.

I agree with Dr. Williams, thanks and if there would be a aesthetician doing this procedure they should be reported. Sometimes, people claim to have Fraxel when it is IPL or something else. I would also have the Dr. Perform it and do your homework.
