I had Fraxel Re:pair 8 weeks ago. I am delighted with the results, especially after seeing the "before" pictures a few days ago. It is often hard to remember how the skin looked before, but the photos clearly showed that many of my wrinkles and lines are gone. The sun damage and uneven skin tone on my face and neck is gone. I went back to work on the fifth day after the procedure. It was the summer and I looked as though I had a sunburn. No-one commented. As soon as my skin was completely healed (by the fifth day) it looked so smooth and fresh. The redness gradually disappeared over the course of several weeks. I do not wear make-up, but I am sure any redness could easily be concealed. The first couple of days were a lot of work with the vinegar soaks and the application of Aquaphor, then as it healed, my face itched for a few days, but all that is soon forgotten. I would not hesitate to recommend this treatment to anyone wishing to take at least a decade off their facial appearance. I was nervous before the treatment, not knowing what to expect, but with the application of a numbing cream before the procedure, plus nerve blocks and valium, discomfort during the actual procedure was minimal.

Did you have your entire face done? Could you please let me know what doctor you went to? The doctors I've spoken to are charging $5,000 for full face. I'd like to get this procedure done soon. Thanks for any information you can give me. Editor note: Provider information is located above the review for registered users.

I am just beginning to look at this procedure as a 52 y/o old woman. I happen to live in Bethesda, MD. Would you be kind enough to share the name of the doc or practice group that you went to? I would feel so much more comfortable if I started with a consultation with someone who has experience with this machine. Thanks in advance and I am really glad things went so well. Maria

I just had my second Fraxel treatment in McLean and I'm very happy. The cost was half of what I would have paid, (under 1000 each treatment). With the numbing cream and a half a darvocet I was fine. I'm not going to say it's a 'cake walk' because I couldn't have done it without the darvocet. The Doctor was very conscientious and I felt well taken care of through the whole procedure. They do 8 passes total. 4/4 and then back to the 'first' side again, 4/4 for a 'little' break. It is hot! But they gave me a forced 'air hose' to use on the areas they were treating, as they went. The second time was with his tech. and I felt very comfortable with her. I did my full face and the under eyes. It took a full week to feel the full results. You're skin will be very smooth after the skin heals and flakes off. I wanted the lines around my month and some acne scarring on my nose softened some more, so I went a second time. They spaced them a month apart. I would do this again if I felt the need but only to a Laser Specialist's office. I spoke to a lot of doctors about many procedures and many didn't understand lasers. Or they said they had Fraxel when they didn't! That really upset me because I was so really to do this and if I hadn't looked into it AND asked the right questions, sometimes more then once to get the truth, I would have let them do 'what ever' and I would have been miserable. I saw many women with the 'sheen' on their faces and I knew if was from the laser scarring on the outside. And I wanted the Fraxel because it works on the 'IN'side. I'm Very Happy I did my 'research'! So for now, I have to stay out of the sun and keep the Aquaphor applied. Make sure you have you're own at home before you have it done. Any discount drug store will have it handy. Be patient, let it peel on it's own so you don't cause any scarring. I had no problems and liked the Aquaphor because a thin film stays on, even when I shower. Make sure you reapply and stay moist and 'protected'. A good sunblock if you must go out. I should be healed before Christmas and ready to see the 'gang'. I can't wait! Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah

Hi. I am thinking of using this doctor for Fraxel Repair. Could you email me about this? Thanks.
