I had very good skin for my age (48) but i just wanted to smoothen the skin due to the fact i had large pores that were bothering me and also wanted to activate the collagen. I was very desappointed. My skin improved only 20% but I develop a horrible hyperpigmentation which I NEVER had before.
Total money lost. I would recommend some other procedure.

Fraxel has a 50% approval rating, but I do not think it is for people with medium tone skin who pigment easily. I have gone to the best doc in NYC for a consultation and he dismisses pigmentation issues for any color skin. This post proves he is wrong and everyone think long and hard and realize that a risk of this procedure is that you may end up with hyperpigmentation.

I agree 100%. I am 9 weeks post fraxel repair and left with major hyperpigmentation. I am between a 3 & 4 on the fitzpatrick scale. I was also told hyperpigmentation was not an issue. I'm taking a less aggressive approach in treating the pigment issues as I do not want to make it worse.
