“Fractional DOT Therapy Using SmartXide”
Spent: $3,600 in NJ
I had the SmartXide laser done on a Thursday afternoon and by Friday afternoon I felt great. Not ready to be seen in public, but felt really good. The recovery was pretty easy and remarkably fast.
The treatment itself was a little bit painful towards the end, as i dont think that the tech put enough numbing cream on under my chin. Other than that...piece o' cake. The aftercare instructions that i was given differ quite a bit from the reviews and comments that i have read online. I am sharing them because i didnt have the drying issue that i have been reading most people experience.
I was told to shower my face every 3hours around the clock for 72hours, applying vaseoline (a good amount) after each shower. My doc also gave me antibiotics (for infection), prednisone (for swelling) and valtrex (for fever blisters) as a preventative. My only complaint with the meds was the prednisone, while i am certain it helped, kept me up all night.
Today (day 4) i feel 100% normal and look 100% better. My reason for doing the procedure was to get rid of these brown spots i had on my face from the sun. I go back in 3-4 weeks for my second treatment and then i am finished. One other thing i wanted to mention is that this laser doesn't remove broken blood vessels. I wanted to see if they would clear up at all, but no such luck. When i go for my 2nd treament, I am going to have them zapped with a different laser. Good luck and i hope this helps someone.
