“Fighting to Get the Botox Results I Paid for”

I had Botox for the first time two months ago in my frown lines and also further up my forehead and to the sides to fight those frown lines. After the 10-day waiting period I didn’t notice any change so I had to chase down the day spa to get it redone.

I refused to pay for something that didn’t work and had to go through a lot of red tape to prove that it didn’t work, but eventually they said they’d redo the job on me for free. This took about a month of phone calls and letters, most unanswered. In the meantime I heard from some of my girlfriends that day spas (the ones without real doctors) use a weaker solution of Botox so there’s less of a chance of complications and getting in trouble. I wasn’t thrilled about going back there after they told me this but I did. Free is free and I wanted what I paid for initially! You don’t go for cosmetics without wanting results!

Long story short I went back and have had better (though not amazing) results this time. I can still wiggle my eyebrows somewhat and I think in a month or two I will probably be able to make the frown lines again – not exactly the 3-4 months they advertised but oh well.

My advice to those who are thinking of doing Botox is to check out where you’re getting it done and also to be very clear in what you want, pay attention to what you sign, etc. They usually try to throw waivers back at you when they do shoddy work so be ready!
