The beginning...I went from one test to another, I had numerous doctor visits until finally I had met every requirement for my insurance. Then we submitted everything to the insurance company and even during the holiday they approved in just a few days! Wow! I was scheduled for 4 wks later, 4 days after Christmas, but enough time to do all the required diet things I needed. I still had to have 2 weeks of only eating 1 real meal a day and drinking 2 protein shakes a day, I had to get busy and get in better shape so I walked more and stayed as busy as possible.

Finally, after all the waiting it was the day, I was nervous but I had waited so long for this, I was so unhealthy and my health was getting worse, I had tried everything to lose weight but had failed, this was my shot. I was ready!

I am working very hard to do everything my doctor has told me to do and I may have set backs but I pray I will never go back to where I was a year ago!

Here is an update: yesterday I went in for my 12 week check up...drum roll....I have lost 65 lbs. since I went to my first meeting with Dr. Roller in August of 2010. I wanted to dance a jig!! Then I reigned myself in. I had a few set back, just wanted to be honest here, I really have struggled. I was exposed to the stomache virus 2 wks post-op and thought I was never going to get my stomache back under control. Dr. Roller gave me a couple of different meds to ease the upset stomache. Ater that I had 2 rounds of flu!! Now things are so much better I can't even begin to describe how my life has changed! I am still walking and I have begun to add the eliptical machine at the gym. I am only walking 2-4 miles a day due to time but I hope I will get faster and can add more miles like I need to. I feel so much better, Dr. Roller helped me change my life and my family is so proud of me.
Great review?

He has a fellowship from Duke. He has a great team, they work for the patient, they are on your side from day one! One of the best things about his practice is they become like a family to every patient. They desire to see you succeed! It is their goal as well as yours. He and his wife are both doctors they work hard to see the patient lose weight.

I have lost a total of 65 since I started going to Dr. Roller and a total of 50 since my surgery. The biggest changes I have made are the walking, I walk 2-4 miles every day. It has been more difficult making sure I get 60-80 grams of protein than anything else, I have however learned to eat good greek yogurt and to drink my protein shakes and realize it will all work out. Staying focused on the positive is better than stressing out! I make sure I get all my water by carrying 4 16oz. bottles of water with me every day. when it is gone I know I have gotten my water for the day. Isopure and Bariatric Advantage are my favorite protein shakes. I also mix Nectar protein in my plain greek yogurt for added protein. I just do what works for me. I can't eat meat since it makes me very sick, so I try other ways to get protein. I am still working on getting to a point to where I can eat other stuff besides soft foods. It will come around, I have no doubt it may take a few more month.

Hi Nat, thanks for your review, it sounds as though you've put a lot of hard work in to this already. If you'd like to share could you tell us how much you've lost since your surgery? How have you found the change in diet and lifestyle? Has it been difficult?

Thanks,

Kirsty
