Worth It
Spent: $5,500 in New York City, New York

I was really lucky to have the best Dr. perform the procedure, so it was basically pain-free, I wish I could have done it sooner. People can't really see it unless they are like 2 or 3 feet from you and really staring at your month. It was only uncomfortable to eat in the first week when my Dr. first put duds on about 8 of the teeth to hold the trays in place.

I had it done in 2005 and I had 23 trays in total. Took 1 years to go through all the trays, 6 months afterward on the last pair and then another 6 months on the retainer, so that's about 2 years in total for the whole procedure. And I only wear the retainer at night up until now, but I do forget sometimes and it wasn't a big problem. My smile still looks really good now.

About the Cons, if there were any cons to it, it was probably just the flossing after lunch part, my colleagues and friends had a pretty good laugh for 2 years. It was particularly interesting to new friends, but think of it the bright side, it is a good ice breaker :).

I think it really depends on who does your procedure, make sure you find an "ORTHODONTIST" and not a "Dentist", who is trained and has experience in doing Invisalign. Because the Dr. has to decide on which one to move and how much to move, you have to sequence the overbite just right to have a good smile. I have seen people who had their teeth straightened, but the smile was just not very good (I hope you know what I mean). One of my friend had it done with another Dr., whose office is actually not that far from my Dr., and had really terrible result. The sequence of her teeth movement wasn't modeled very well, not only was it totally ineffective, it somehow made it worse that she ended up having to go to another orthodontist, who had to use traditional braces to fix it. And she still haven't got her money back from her invisalign Dr.!! And this is the main reason why I decide to contribute my 2 cents, I hope my review helps.
