I have had 8 treatments of ipl hair removal, it works, that s wonderful result... but i am starting to think that ipl is a very bad radiation...what will be in 5, 10 years??? Does anyone know anything about radiation that is produced by ipl machines? How dangerous is it?... We are trying to make a baby for 3 years... but nothing. When I was very young i very often went to solarium... then (after 5 years of using it) i have realized that it is very harmful.. i stopped using it.. my menstruation cycle was normal again... but after i found out about ipl hair removal.. and i started to use it too.. and now after 8 treatments.. i am starting to think.. how dangerous is it? it is the same as radiation...and again.. i have the problems with menstruation cycle.. it is not stable.. does the ipl cause the problem of infertility?? Please answer me THX

Hi Jenny,

Thanks for your review. In our Dr Q&A it seems the IPL laser is not so much a laser as more a light pulse that the Dr's say is perfectly safe. As for the challenges with having a baby, I would talk to a specialist on that. Please keep us updated.

Thanks,

-Britt

Dear Britt, if i right understand you, do you really think IPL is completely safe???What about radiation?
KikiLisa (RealFriend) 1 Jan 2011
Jenny, You are right to be worried. In my opinion, IPL is not safe at all, and the intense light penetrates deeper than it is intended to. I don't know why researchers have not clued into this yet, but it's been up to those of us who've had negative reactions to draw our own conclusions. What areas on your body are you using IPL for hair removal?

I am wondering, what was the reason you went for ipl? i went for rosacia. I have experienced great results. I am wondering if maybe the Dr who is administering your ipl may not know what they are doing? Also, one treatment doesn't give you results. Just curious.

Hi, thx for reaction.. i m using it on legs and the whole bikini zone-(((

Dear Sunshine, for 6 years I have used waxing on my legs and bikini, but all the time after procedure i had rash and pimples... It was not good... so as i have heard about IPL, that it is completely painless.. and after 7 treatments, hairs will not grow.. so i decided to try it, and really after the 1st treatment, during 7 days the hairs just have falled out..it was very cool, i was happy. So I did it approx 6 time in one area and 2 times i did the whole legs and bikini... After I was just wondering if it is really safe, because my husband told me that it is RADIATION!!!so... that s why i am here writing my comments. I just want to know more... to continue with IPL...or not....thx for reply

Jenny, I believe that it is a form of radiation and I strongly advise you do not seek anymore treatments. Light and Laser devices have not been fully studied and the long term effects are not known or understood. It is not safe.

Thank you very much for the answer. I ll not do this anymore. Thank you all for advice! I apreciate all of you
