Epic Fail - Eugene, OR

It’s already a humbling endeavor to find new ways to age gracefully. It was a very disappointing experience and I would never recommend them to anyone I cared about…especially when there are other capable offices in town who are friendlier and less costly and don’t manipulate with a consult fee while making you feel unworthy of their services. However, I was initially impressed with the website and various options for invasive and non-invasive procedures, so I scheduled an appt and agreed to pay the $60 consult fee...even though NO one else charges a consult fee anymore. I was told to allow an hour and 1/2 for the entire appt. I showed up 15 min early, as requested, to complete all the paperwork, which detailed why I was there. Then I proceeded to wait for nearly an hour before seeing the Dr. When he finally met with me, he was visibly rushed and impatient and never looked at my paperwork, but asked me rather abruptly why I was there. I explained how impressed I was with the various options described on the website, and wanted to hear more about each one, as to how I may or may not be a good candidate for each and why. He asked again what I hoped to accomplish, and I repeated my preferences. He tugged and pinched the skin around my face and neck, saying “what about this?” and “don’t you want to fix this?”, etc…making me feel even more insecure about being there. Then he flippantly suggested 2 non-invasive procedures…one of which I had already stated I wasn’t interested in. He didn’t bother taking the time to explain the full scope of other options, and rebutted my effort to engage in friendly chit-chat. When I inquired about the cost variance between the 2 procedures, he interrupted me and said that’s not “his area”…I would have to talk to another gal about that. Then after spending no more than 15-20 min with me, he left without saying thank you or good-bye, and asked me to wait in the lobby until the “pricing” gal came to get me. I waited another 10+ min before being escorted into her office and she threw 2 over-priced numbers at me without detailing the specifics. When I asked for further clarification, she seemed confused and agitated and said she would ask the doctor again…she left and came back saying – “Yep, that’s the quote”. I mentioned that the pricing for one of the procedures was at least 3x higher than another office in town…she shrugged and said that’s the quote. I left - after being there over 2 hours - feeling demeaned and devalued and determined to never retain their services. When I called back to check if I could possibly apply my $60 fee towards spa services and/or other skin care products, I was told “yes”. However, when I showed up to purchase products, they told me I couldn’t apply my $60 fee, so I left without buying anything and they made another $60 for doing nothing. They were very unprofessional and aloof and inefficient, as well as mis-leading regarding the $60 fee. A shameless scam at best, when a single throw pillow on the luxurious waiting room couch costs more than $60. I understand the principle of paying a consult fee, since the Dr.’s time is valuable…but so is mine, and I paid for services NOT rendered. It was a very disappointing experience and I would never recommend them to anyone I cared about…especially when there are other capable offices in town who are friendlier and less costly and don’t manipulate with a consult fee while making you feel unworthy of their services.
