The sagging is more than likely the result of stretched ligaments. It's really all dependant on the elasticity of your skin. I feel your pain. I'm only 19 and I feel like I have the breasts of someone double my age.

You might not get the super firm boobs you are hoping for with a lot of weight loss. I had a breast lift and at first they looked really good but after the swelling went down and still not high and firm. I mean, they are waay improved but I don't think without an implant I am going to get that really perky looking I was looking for. Is there an improvement from before surgery? Mine are pretty soft too now, I think a lot of us spend a lot of time looking at super augmented breasts and think that's how we are going to look after lift, and that is SOO not the case.

It depends on the type of lift you had. If it was an internal lift or not as well. Also, 34dd sound big to me, thus with or without plants they will eventually sag... How much are they sagging?

Katielynch, Congrats on losing the weight. Your complaint seems to center around recurrent ptosis (sagging). And as I read it you have had a lift and aug? Depending on the technique, the reason they "sag" could be from a couple of reasons. First, weight loss patients' skin is less resilient due to the stretching that occurs during weight gain. The breast is also largely fat. So, it would make sense that as you lost weight ... the breast deflated. I see this alot in patients presenting for lifts after pregnancy (think mommy makeover). Second, there are different types of lifts. All require incisions on the breast to "tighten" the breast and some carry the risk of early recurrence. Third, DD would show earlier droop compared to smaller breast for a very simple reason ... gravity. The weight of the breast is what causes the initial stretching and leads to it happening again. Without seeing your pictures, I would say your best bet would be to reduce the implant/breast size somewhat followed by a "redo." At age 20, you shouldn't be seeing a ton of "sag" after your second operation, but it wouldn't be unheard of. The firmness you desire could also be accomplished by increasing the implant size while reducing the breast (the implant has more firmness when compared to the typical weight loss patient's breast). I wish you the best. Michael Spann.

Katie, Unfortunately, I can totally relate to you. I sagged at an early age and had my first lift at age 26, with implants to fill out the top. Within months they were sagging again. I had the implants replaced with a smaller size and the surgeon removed more skin. They sagged again and I ended up having hardening. I had the implants removed entirely, with yet another lift, and after two kids, decided to try another lift with implants. It's now been only 10 months and my breasts are once again sagging. I just saw my surgeon last week and she said that I need more skin removed and that I can even have some larger implants if I want (I have very, very small ones now -in the 200cc range). I'm so afraid to go through this again because it seems that nothing's working to keep me firm. I can't understand how the skin can possibly keep stretching and stretching! Seems like it would have to stop at some point. Let me know if you ever found a good resolution.
