I made it!!!

Ok so I am a bit late with my post. Day of surgery, got 5 hrs sleep the night before and got there 6:30am. I kissed my children while they were sleeping & left them a sweet little note as the tears poured down my face. Gave my mother in law all the school day morning duties and a list and she hugged me and wished me well.. Lights were out when we pulled up so we were second guessing the date, etc.. But I saw the nurse pull up and followed her in. I gave hubby a grand hug & I was off! Got dressed in the gown and took 1 last look at the ugly fat and gave it the last good bye.. I sat on this nice recliner as they took my stats and they told me to relax since my resting rate was a little high. The PS came and marked me up like an artist.. I felt like I was a canvas.. After that, met the two anesthesiologist that we're going to watch over me.. They said they were going to make me relax and next thing I know, they were holding my arms escorting me to the OR. I was having typical conversation with them & no count down, I was just out. Next thing I know, I awake in a bed in the recovery room. I felt ok but loopy was the better word. They asked how I felt & I said I want to see my husband. Next thing I know, they have me sitting up & with some apple juice, a nutri grain bar and showing hubby all he has to do for me. And off we go, back door, his car was parked right there and we were out the door. All was ok until I got home and the mess they gave me started to ware off. I was on oxy's 2 at a time and thank goodness today I'm down to 1 for the day. I was so out of it I couldn't write. I give much credit to those who took photos the day of. Getting up was difficult but getting better as each day passes.. I will update more after my post op visit tomorrow. The only downfall from having a Friday surgery day. Although they did give us a number to call in case something feels wrong. These past 2 days have been work: getting up for meals, bathroom, meds, & drains, oh my! Lol..

this is it!

so my 12am cutoff is about to begin, I am just literally exhausted. Do I think I got everything? maybe.. I have a million things running through my mind but just had so much going on the past few days between personal and work that I am physically exhausted. I guess I can say that I will be relaxing on the couch for a little while so that will make up for it ;) I had my house professionally cleaned today which felt really nice and refreshing although it was still work for me..maybe I can get sleep? I have to be up by about 5am, leave the house by 6am for a 6:30am appt. with a 7:30am start.. let's see how this schedule pans out.. anyway, I am signing off for now, and will revisit when I am on the flat side!! :) xo

getting so close!

Hello! I know I haven't updated in a while. I went to see the Anesthesiologist last week and all seems to check out. I think that was the reality check that this is about to happen! I haven't been getting the best sleep lately and trying to get the bad thoughts out of my head. Because my PS said I didn't need medical clearance, I wanted peace of mind and called my doc. I want to be 100%. So I went today to see him. He gave me an EKG and everything checks out OK. He went through a check list in case there was something my PS missed and it seems they are pretty much in line which is great and feels very comforting. He also said that if I wanted soup to nuts on getting the full checkup to come back tomorrow for an echocardiogram and so that is what I am going to do. My results will be back before Friday. I know I should have done this earlier but I think I just freaked out last minute. Time is just flying right by and before I know it, I will be on my way!! Pictures will be on the way very soon, I promise! I'm currently at 240 lbs. and 5'6". Just one more question for all you out there that have had the surgery, what foods do you stick with post op?? more like soups? protein shakes? I like eating healthy foods, just want suggestions since I thought I heard that roughage should be left out of the diet the first few days.. any input will be a great help! :) thanks!! and looking forward to the flat'ter' side!!
