Had smartlipo 7 months ago. Am not happy at all. I feel as though this particular promissed me the moon and the results were such that if anything, I came out with an even worse body. No weight was lost.

The doctor told me I was a Perfect candidate because I was not that fat and that the proceedure would "sculpt" me. Not the case. I am mad at myself for not getting second opinions with other smartlipo doctors which i have since done.

This particular doctor was so money hungry that I received 3 phone calls reminding me to "bring in the cash" on my pre-op visit. Awful. Awful experience.

I have read many receint reviews of Dr. J. Lanes "smartlipo" practice in East Lyme. Ct. His business seems to be on the decline. Perhaps more and more people are doing their research which is fantastic news. My experience was such a waste of my time and money and the end results were just awful. Honestly..do your research before you go to this doctor. His "Training" was simply a 3 day course he took which earned him his "cirtificate" which he proudly displays in a cheap frame in his office..I noticed this during my free consult when he had to leave for 15 mins to check a clients swollen face as a result of his wife doing a laser on someone (I could hear everything through the door)! Honestly, stear clear of this guy. He is in fact not qualified to be doing this and he needs to find another means of income. From the "deli board" on the front lawn, to the tired looking facility, one should get the heck out before being manipulated into an awful, awful experience. To this day, my husband is furious and is thinking very seriously of a lawsuit and would include anyone who feels this would help to shut this guy down.

Dr. L first had me in his office alone for an hour for a "free Consult". I felt almost trapped and that I could not leave until I had made a financial commitment. After finally deciding to go ahead with the surgery, he could'nt get my money fast enough. Surgery was delayed 2 hours because he arrived late. No hello for at least 20 mins. He was in and ou of surgery to take phone calls and have lunch. Awful experience. His wife Kathy assisted in surgery and together they were like used car salesmen. Support staff I have to say was outstanding. To sum it all up, I do not look 1 ounce smaller. I paid a fortune and I have 10 discusting incision scars. Waste of money. I have since scheduled to go to another doctor near New Haven to "fix" the job done by Dr. L of East Lyme.
