I had BA revision and labiaplasty with Mr Banwell...
I had BA revision and labiaplasty with Mr Banwell in Jan 2015. As soon as I met Mr Banwell, he was extremely thorough about the procedures and pedantic with regards to going thorough every detail. Unlike other surgeons i had consulted, he was not in a rush to get me in and out; he ensured I was highly informed about the procedures. I had 2 (very thorough) consultations with an offer to have more. I was, however, satisfied with making my choice to proceed after the 2nd consultation.
I have to also mention, Mr Banwell advised everything was "within the normal range" and that I wasn't in dire need of the surgery - essentially suggesting that everything 'down there' wasn't abnormal and that my breasts weren't by any means small. For the first time I felt I was being given an honest opinion by a surgery practise, that had my interests at heart as oppose to their monetary gain.
I described to Mr Banwell *exactly* what I'd like my breasts to look like and that I wanted them to fill out more at the sides. I thought he'd tell me (as previous surgeons had), that you get what breast shape you already have, but bigger. He didn't. I went from a 455cc to 700cc and they literally look exactly as I'd described. Mr Banwell had ensured the breasts came out at the sides more (this is soooo inarticulate I know - sorry!) as I have a wide back. I now have that perfect figure of 8 shape.
With regards to the labiaplasty, I was warned against it by friends who'd said I'd be in excruciating pain afterwards and heard horror stories about not being able to wee etc etc I have a very low pain threshold and am a complete wimp when it comes to pain so I was petrified! I couldn't believe it when I woke up after surgery and very honestly felt NO pain whatsoever!! I literally felt as if I could have run a lap around the hospital. I went for wee absolutely fine and with again, no pain AT ALL!
I had surgery in East Grinstead and the hospital was so cosy! I stayed in one night and could've stayed there all week. The nurses are so lovely and I cannot fault anything. I had a bit of pain/discomfort from my BA during the night but that was wiped out by painkillers.
I healed from surgery within a week and felt minimal discomfort and pain. I am so grateful to Mr Banwell for giving me exactly what I asked for and couldn't be happier with my results. I don't know how he managed to eradicate the pain subsequent to surgery (I envisaged crawling on all fours near death!) but he did.
To anyone thinking of having surgery, don't go to anyone else.
