in these two weeks i highly recommend pumping to prepare your little one because you are not going to beable to really "hold" them nurse them for two weeks. you dont want to risk ripping stiches and straining your muscles. I have my surgery in 3 weeks and im trying to stop picking up my 2 year old as much. im so scared he is going to be so mad at me and cry because i cant hold him for two weeks after surgery!

Good luck with your surgery! We'll be following your journey with interest. You little ones will probably be sad they can't be held, but remember that it's temporary and the results you'll have from your tummy tuck will be long lasting! That's what child-help is for, right?

Before you know it you'll be snuggling with your children again! Please come back and keep us posted.

MSmomof2 30 Mar 2011
Hi Gisselfp, I am only 4days post op but from what I have read the swelling does tend to be worse at night during weeks 2 and 3 due to resuming normal activity. If you find anything that helps with swelling please do share!!! Otherwise hang in there and it will get better!!

Hi Msmomof2, I have been using ice packs on my tummy four times a day. I havnt seen any improvements but I guess I'll keep trying. Are you swollen?
