Post surgery
Had my surgery on the 15th of December 2014. Where do I start with this review?
I will start with the flight journey up to the day I left DR.
My flight from London to NY was great. I spent the night in New York City but missed my flight in the morning. I sent Lesly a watsapp message to inform her that I missed my flight. I also had to pay $310 for another ticket.
The flight to DR was packed! No empty seat watsoever! I blamed the airline though cos the vessel/carrier to Santo Domingo was smaller than the one from London to NYC which was practically empty! Had three seats to myself.
When I got to DR, everything was pretty straight forward. Picked up my luggage, Paid for my visa and went outside. Dr Almonte and her team already arranged for my pick up! The driver who speaks very fluent English and was very nice was outside waiting for me with my name on a plaque. I said hello to him and he went and brought the car. He put my things in the boot and we headed straight to the clinic. I got to DR around 8pm. The journey to the clinic was around 25mins. I talked to the driver throughout the journey. He's also very knowledgeable about different things and also can relate well with the procedures I wanted done.
The clinic was very modern and clean. I was shown to my room. I unpacked my stuff and went out to get water from the nurses. Not speaking Spanish was never a barrier neither was it an issue. To the best of my knowledge, I was well looked after and treated well. One of the nurses from Doc Almonte's team wrote down all the tests needed and then different professionals got down to carry out their tasks.
My blood was taken for testing and I went upstairs for my X-ray. My ECG was done the next day. My Haemoglobin was 12.7 so there goes my arm lipo! Started thinking of round 2 there and then!

Not Long to go now
Wow, it seemed like yesterday that I had three months to go! Finally, my date is closer. I have been preoccupied lately so havent even thought about it.
Anxious?? Apprehensive?? Not me. I kind of worry that I am not thinking about the surgery. Then again, thats me sometimes. I can comfortably block things out of my mind sometimes or maybe I am very confident that the doctor I have chosen will see that I am well taken care of.
Lesley has been on point with her communication. I do hope I get a great result from my suirgery because then, I will rate team Almonte 100% all round.
I am partially packed. I have a list of over 50 items to buy which I made months back but somehow, I might be abandoning the list and just go for the essentials. I do not want to end up with unneccessary excess.
Not sure what else to write here. Flight was booked ywo weeks ago. Going with Delta Airlines. Coming back on xmas day. Picked the date on purpose in order to have 3 seats to myself but lo and behold, I am not the only one thinking the same. The flight is FULL!! I am able to determine this because when I checked to change my seat for the day, there was NONE available! Who travels on xmas day!! Isnt it meant to be spend with family!!! Arghhh.
Anyway pps (Not sure if more than 2 people read my blogs which is why I dont bother posting), I would appreciate if you say a prayer or two for me on the day(15th December). I shall bribe you all with before and after pictures!!

Deposit down, 3 months to go
I finally decided to go with Dr Fatima Almonte after all my research and deliberation. So far, communication has been good. Her assistant Lesley is an effective communicator though my last two mails were unanswered. Turned out that my emails have been going to her spam. Anyway, she's confirmed she had recieved my deposit and my date book. I'm also Dr Almonte's only patient for the day at so I feel kinda special and blessed. Then again, that has been my life in a nutshell, testimony of God's favor and blessings. I'm still battling with choosing a RH. I speak no word of Spanish so looking for one where staff are bilingual. Sweet Home recovery home has been recommended. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find any reviews on them or how to even reach them. Will have to revert to the recommender!
Been diligently going to the gym as well. So far, I'm looking fitter. Trying to not lose weight as well. Part of the reason for my gyming is to prepare my body and for faster recovery. Hope to go in at 75kg. Anyway, will update again in a couple of weeks.

My overall experience with this Dr. Was a very positive one. She is a very nice person and has a great team! I cannot fault any of her services. I will comment on the result after two months because it's mixed feelings for me now. I'm satisfied with some places and less satisfied with others but it's very early stages. I'd totally recommend her to anyone who is looking for a Dr that will attend to their needs and will make their DR experience a very positive one. I'm really glad I chose her because I have no negative experience. They handled everything down to the RH, the chauffeuring and always always attentive to your needs. Very dedicated team she runs I must say.
