“Do not waste your money on this in the pursuit of smooth skin”

Fraxel Laser: NOT worth it

Cost: $4,500
Pain: Uncomfortable
Fraxel Laser satisfaction: Poor1 Star Rating: Poor

I would not recommend this procedure to people looking for smooth skin.  I had it done and overall it improved my skin by 35%.  It did work for some moderate lines or pigmentation issues but not very effective for texture or acne scars.

I found that the ice pick and rolling scars that I had didn't change very much from before the procedure.  Also, it is supposed to be a one time procedure so if it is not effective enough the first time then you have to pay for a second which can be quite pricey at $3500 to $4500 per procedure.

The time away from work and pain during healing just wasn't worth the results.  Check out all other options before settling for Fraxel.

Look at the results for C02 ablative they can do a one pass treatment...And they have recent studies...Tina Alster that is effective with minimum lightening on darker skin.... Co2 light. The downtime is almost the same.... It is effective results are superior very long lasting and the risks are established over many many years

I have a lot of acne scars on my cheeks, deep indents;my skin looked like a map. So I was referred to {edited} in my state..he gave me three procedures THE FASULA, it is copyright. He gave me fat transfer, which helped me with my shallow scars. It helped me alot, then, he did subcision and I was very impressed with the procedure; he made a lot of ugly scars disappear. Then by mistake I decided to go to see another surgeon who charged a lot more money and didn't do anything but a good fraxel laser.. He improved a big scar that I have closed to the chin. Then I went back to {edited} and he did another subsicion procedure and gave a much better appearance on my face. I am very happy with the results with {edited} ...he saved my face. Now I don't feel ashamed like before because of my acne. My face looked before like a disfigured face. {edited} made my face look like a normal face with mild acne scars on my face, he made all my indents and shallows disappear. I still need just one better laser. I believe the one in New Jersey is really good at it. Editor note: To make or request doctor recommendations, please visit our Doctor Recommendation Forums.

This is an addition to the comment made above. As said earlier that Fraxel Repair does seem to work for some moderate wrinkles and pigmentation problems, there is a time period that people need to wait to see what the true results of what their Fraxel is. After the procedure and for a few months afterwards, the skin is still swollen and so those lines and acne scars may look smooth but after the swelling goes down they can reappear again. It is subjective to the persons skin type and age. They don't look as bad as they did before the procedure but they are not as good as right after as the swelling temporarily and unnoticeably "puffs" up the skin and makes it appear really smooth. Wait 3 to 6 months to really see what Fraxel's benefits are as they may change over time.

I would not do fraxelnot worth it....Fat grafting or C02 are far superior..Depending on the scarring or wrinkles....Much better option with real results....
