Mommy Tummy is Going to Go - Denver, CO

I had a kiddo almost 8 years ago. Since then I have not been able to get rid of the pooched that formed on my belly. I have always been highly active and periodically workout. When I say active, I mean - Mtn Biking, Snowboarding, Hiking, backpacking... I even did P90X and that did nothing for my pooch.

I decided it was time to do something about it and thought I may need a Mini Tummy tuck. The first office said I needed a full Tummy Tuck with only seeing pictures. The next office said "No Tummy Tuck" and that anyone that suggested that was just trying to get my money. He said I just needed Lipo, but he only did traditional lipo. So this lead me to SmartLipo.

I have researched it thoroughly and then found a doctor. It seems that this is my best bet with them skin tightening it can come with. I have done RF (Radio Frequency) to tighten my skin in the Ab area and it has tightened up the areas that do not have this fat pooch in them.

Today is Post-Op with pictures to be taken and meds to get. I'm nervous and excited!

I went in for my pre-op the other day. All went well. We took pictures and talked about the Meds. They prescribed me an Antibiotic that I'll start taking the day before as we as a homeopathic Med. called Arnica. I'll start taking this the day before as well. They said it will help with the bruising and swelling. I wonder if any one has tried this and if they felt like it worked for them.

So I'm done. It was an interesting experience. The numbing sucked the most, but after that it just felt weird. The suction of the fat was ticklish in some spots, mainly my ribs. Afterwards, I was so out of it, I don't remember the ride home.

I do have drainage tubes. I know that most Smartlipo procedures don't have you do it and they give you pads to absorb it, but frankly, I'm glad to have them. Otherwise, the up keep on the drainage would suck. I also hope that this keeps me from having those pockets of liquid so many people talk about.

I have looked at my tummy and it is very flat. The belly button is a little weird looking, but I need to give it time. I am back to work today, but I have a desk job.

I'll post pictures after the tubes are out.

So day 3. I'm already starting to feel better with the pain. I was able to sleep on my side last night, which means better sleep. I have a few bruises starting and those are a little tender. But all around I'm feeling good. My drainage has lessened and I'm not emptying out the bottles every few hours anymore. My belly button looks a little funny and I think that will get better with time. Friday I get the tubes out, then I'll post some after pics.

Today is day 4 Post-op. I am so far pleased with the results. The Spanx are kinda folding my belly button in a weird way, but if I take them off and let the skin relax a bit, it looks more normal. So far, when I look at the results, I am very pleased. I had that mommy tummy with the stretch marks and seemingly loose skin, but as I look at my tummy, that all seems way less noticable. I know that it may change a bit, and I may have some loose skin, but so far, so good. Tomorrow the tubes come out and I'll post some pics over the weekend.

I had the tubes removed today. The swelling is still there, but will now hopefully disappear soon. I will start massages next Thursday!

Day 9 - I will post more picures soon. The swelling gets less and less every day. i take Ibuprofin at night to help me sleep and I think it's helping the swelling too. I'm still sore and a little uncomfortable when i sleep, but not bad during the days.

I'm still wearing the compression garment and take it off every 3 days to wash. So I have it off for 1.5hours, but I can't be wearing something gross. I wasn't told that I couldn't take it off, just to wear it all the time between showers and washing. It was recommended that I wear it for 3 weeks straight and then for at least 12 hours a day after for a couple of months.
Dr. Verebelyi

Through the Pre-op to the Post-op the Dr. and his staff have been very pleaseant. I feel that he's been very honest with me about results and what I can expect. He talked to me throughout the procedure and was very nice. He even came in on his day off since it would be more convenient for me. He didn't do any pressure selling, telling me I should improve this or that. He just stuck to what I wanted and how we can get there.
