Just had a breast reduction this past thursday and the recovery thus far has been pleasant. Although I'm still bandaged up, I'm very happy with what I can see. I'm 23 5'4 140lbs and had 34ddd!!! Not sure what size I am now, but I over heard one of the nurses say a small c. Wish I had done this years ago. My level of physical comfort and self-confidence has skyrocketed.

My Doctor: Joyce Aycock

My rating:

Her beside manner is lacking but her skills as a surgeon are superior. My surgery was scheduled for 2.5 hours but ended up being 4 hours because Dr. A wanted to make sure they proportionate to my body and as perfect as possible. She has an artistic eye and is extremely talented and comfortable in her craft.

That's so great! Everyone deserves to be comfortable and confident. Thanks so much for posting on RealSelf.

If you can, we'd love an accurate price. Putting $0 in that field skews our stats. A real price is very helpful for other women in your area looking for breast reduction.

My insurance covered it, so I'm not sure of the price. I'll update my review once I see the claim from the insurance company.

Hi--I had a question regarding insurance--I am about your same proportions in height-a little lighter in weight "only" a DD-but my back constantly hurts.

I was wondering if they had a set amount they had to remove from each breast and how long you had to complain of symtoms )back ache, etc) before they covered the surgery.

It is awesome that you did it so young--I'm 34 and really wished I would have done it when you did!
Thanks!

Hello! Honestly I never complained of back pain. I went to my primary physician in regards to a really bad skin condition I had as a result of such large breasts. When he saw how large my breasts were he asked me had I ever considered a reduction, then immediately referred me to a plastic surgeon. Just like you, it was something I had wanted for years but thought was impossible. It only took a week for insurance to approve it. They wanted a minimum of 500g removed from each breast. The surgeon removed about 800g from each side. Feel free to ask me anything!!

Hi fantastic feeling isn't it! I'm 5.5 and 145 pounds but an old lady of 37. I'm so pleased that you did it young. Medical insurance isn't common place in the UK and neither is "cosmetic surgery" (or it's not talked about) so I never thought of it as an option until recently. Enjoy putting on clothes that before were a distant dream! X

I used to have 34DD’s, it was really difficult having such large breasts since I am also a very petite woman. I constantly get unwanted attention and I couldn’t wear any of the cute little clothes that I wanted without looking like a mess… and all I wanted was to be a “sexy, classy WOMAN” not an awkwardly large breasted woman. I got my Breast Reduction in FL! I’ve never been more self confident and pleased then I am now! Now summer is my favorite season!

I'm so glad you were able to get it done! Have you been able to wear underwire bras? I am afraid to ha ha
