I am 43 with two children and weighed 145lbs. I work out 3 to 4 times a week and eat healthy. After second child (now 7) I was never able to lose and/or tone my tummy. I finally gave up and decided to get this procedure. Had procedure done on July 6th, 2010. I had read a lot of posts prior to my procedure and admit it scared me! The numbing didn't hurt me like others mentioned. Besides feeling a few pricks and feeling like a giant water balloon it wasn't that bad. Other than a few times of him getting to close to the belly button the procedure was painless. Four hours later I was in my car on the way home. My doctor is one hour away so when I got home I had to immediately change my bandages. Then before bed changed them again. Took no pain pills and went to bed - slept great. Woke up sore but no pain. Changed bandages and then waited a few hours til I could shower. It felt so good! Once showered I never leaked again which I thought was amazing. Continued and still taking antibiotics, bromelain, and arnica montana for swelling. Dr told me not to eat red meat for 6 weeks but to make protein shakes, eat chicken/fish/veggies and protein bars with lots of water. I've alse been eating a lot of pineapple. Swelled up a little bit but manageable. Wearing my garment 23 hours a day with one hour off. I'm doubling the garment at night before I go to bed. I never did have to take any pain pills as Tylenol did the trick for me. As of July 20th it's been two weeks and I feel great. On day 10 I did end up with Seroma but went in that day and got it drained. I didn't take before pictures on my own but got some from the doctor and posted those. The after pictures I was home alone trying to take myself. I will post more over the next week when I can have someone take better ones like my side profile but I think you can see the difference and the progress in just two weeks!

Week 3 today! Had my follow up appointment and it went great. So far I've had two sessions of Zerona and two sessions of body shaper. Going again on Thursday to do more of the body shaper. I am still a bit swollen and little sore. As you can see there is still lumpiness and some bruising going on. The Zerona liquifies and helps you loose inches and the shaper breaks down the lumps and at some point will smoothen me out a bit. My stomach is less and less hard after these treatments. I've posted 3 week pictures again by myself so did the best I could.

It will be officially 3 months tomorrow since my procedure. I love my results so far. I've lost 10lbs and went from a size 8 jeans to size 4 jeans and still continuing to lose inches. I have been consistantly doing the smooth shaper and velashape on a weekly basis. By doing this and eating right I've accelerated my results by 3 months. I have very little lumpiness left. The key here is it takes patience and dedication. I still wear my garment every day and will continue to as long as I'm doing the vela and smooth shaper. You have to eat right and exercise. I will post updated pictures this week.

Great results - thanks for posting the pics!  Sounds like you had a good experience - would love to be able to show this as a positive recommendation on your doctor's profile - would you mind sharing who your doctor was?

Thanks for posting. I'm 42 with 2 kids in grade school and am in pretty good shape but I had a pad of fat under my belly button that just wouldn't go away. I thought my only option was a tummy tuck and I didn't want full abdominal surgery. I saw a plastic surgeon about a cancerous mole on my face and asked about the tummy. He suggested smart lipo. I researched online and found your post. I had smart lipo on Monday (it's now Friday) and I'm already happy with the results despite swelling and loose skin. I had next to no pain, and only minimal drainage. I'm happy I had the procedure

how are you feeling? I love my results. It's been 3 1/2 months now and I've lost over 10lbs. I'm hoping to post new pictures in the next week.

Thanks for sharing!

Qs: 1) did you have Vaser done also? 2) do you still have any lumpiness after over a year past and all those additional Zerona after treatments, 3) how effective & how much are the smooth shaper and velashape treatments?

Thanks!
