I had a 50 milli-something laser peel all over my face combined with fractional resurfacing also around my eyes and mouth with the Sciton laser. Also, BBL or photolight done on my neck, chest and hands. I am 50 years old and have typical crows feet and marionette lines and sun damaged skin. BBL was not bad at all...I was numbed on my face with injections so only felt those and not the laser.

Day 1...very frightening looking..swollen, oozing, bleeding. Can't sleep well on my back.

Day 2...ditto...afraid I've really screwed up now. Face feels hot and tight, beet red! Still not sleeping.

Day 3...still very swollen, throbbing, no longer bleeding. Awake most of the night. I look like a burn victim.

Day 4...probably worst pain day..heavy throbbing. Want to use ice pack but Dr. says not to. Throbbing is good? took Hydrocodone and slept through the night.

Day 5...strangely most of the pain is gone. No throbbing. eyes still scabby and swollen. starting to peel on my nose and still very beet red.

Talked to Dr. and he says the longer it takes to heal the better. Wonders if he should have gone deeper. funny. Figures it may take two full weeks to totally heal given my progress so far.

Will post pics throughout.

It too about 12 days to heal enough that I could disguise the redness with makeup. I was so very red...like a bad sunburn for a couple more months. I wear daily 50 spf sunscreen always now and stay out of the sun the best I can. I am posting this at the end of January so I can fully judge the results. The crows feet went away. I'll need to keep up botox however to keep them gone. My pores are small and my face looks so smooth.

I get comments on my complexion often. I still have one line at my mouth that I wished would go away but juvederm is the only hope for it. A laser peel will resurface your skin and even your skin tone. It will not get rid of all lines but most and it will not firm your skin. However, my eyelids did improve firmness wise. It is important to protect your "new" skin with sunscreen. As for the BBL on my neck and hands I had it done one other time since and now am satisified with the results. The blotches and age spots are gone entirely. Again, it doesn't firm, just resurfaces.

So, final verdict is I am happy with the results. I still need to address facial sagging but that I think is best done with either a face lift or injections of radiesse. I am considering injections. I will not undergo the laser again however due to the pain of recovery and the long term redness so, I had best take care of this skin!

I'm on Day 2 and am scared because my face looks so awful. I'm glad to see this is normal. Right now my face is very swollen and slimy from the vasoline although it actually doesn't hurt as badly as it did yesterday.
