post op day 8

Wow, there is light at the end of the tunnel. My progress has been slow as I was not able to hold anything down for 5 days. I got 2 pills down the first couple of days but that was it. I was nauseated something terrible had nausea patch and suppositories nothing worked. On day 6 able to hold oatmeal down and day 7 went to remove my tubes but was disappointed as I could not because I was a little slow healing obviously haven't eat anything in several days. However I have amped up my protein and able to hold food and take my antibiotics!!!! Soooo Happy!! Being sick or nauseated was not part of my prepared plan.. lol Ugh but the is light at the end of the tunnel. I feel way better walking and even went out ystdy. Still hunched over lightly which for some reason I assumed that would only be a week!!! Um not sure where I got that from now. But my scar looks good taking a shower and making small progress. I am on the down side of the mountain Thank God. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everyone's tidbits it really helps I promise I don't know where I would be without RS. How long is the average time before we are standing straight up?? Getting over the old woman posture that will come soon enough.. Thanks again and will post pics later.

day 3 post op

I just want to share with RS the support is totally amazing. I feel better only 2 pain meds I have been able to hold done since surgery. My only issue is that I am unable to get rest. I can only sleet 2 hrs at a time? Weird... If anyone had any tips please advise.. Again Thank you RS you make our experience so much better.

day 1 asd 2 post op

Thank God I am alive.. Like everyone here I had my doubts, concerns, and anxiety. However by Dr, I so cool nice and answers all questions prior to going in . The anesthesiologist has been there 30 years and enjoys his work . We were talking for 2 min and I woke up with the nurse forcing me to dress. I was totally nauseated. They gave me a patch an something in my IV.. I couldn't take any pain meds my 1st day because I kept throwing it up!! It was the worse. I could not get comfortable on either side so I was annoyed. The pain was tolerable and I could go with out the meds. But I a I want to sleep. smile. Day two I was finally able to hold the pain meds down they make me sleep and I am able to hold them down with soup and,/or banana. Honestly I am aching but definitely go without the pain meds if I had to. So Yea made it to the flat side. I have not seen my stomach I don't really want to I just want rest after all that vomiting made my stomach sore. Will post pics later that RS for seeing me through this site has been amazing!!
