Initially going to into this whole idea of plastic...
Initially going to into this whole idea of plastic surgery, well, I was really unsure. I am 26 y/o, newly married, and had just had a baby within the last year. On top of that, the appearance of my breasts and ‘love handles/stomach’ had always been something I struggled with. Even in front of my husband, I was covered, didn’t undress in front of him, wore big clothes, etc. After the baby, everything just got bigger or baggier. I one day I just decided I was too young to be so embarrassed, so I began to research plastic surgeons. Cosmetic Specialists of Memphis came up in several of my research attempts, so I began to look at them more closely. When I realized it was a husband/wife pair and family oriented, I called to book my consultation.
As soon as I walked in, the front staff is AHHH-MAZING. Lily (the office manager) is a gift from heaven above. She was so inviting and made me feel so comfortable. My initial plans were to inquire about a breast life and areola reduction with Dr. Eby. Friends, she walked in and something about her just gave me peace. We talked, she answered my questions, and she gave me visuals- just made me feel like she understood where I was coming from. I was so comfortable that I then asked her about liposuction from the front/back areas. That’s when Dr. Aldea comes in.
Dr. Aldea is one of a kind! He is straight forward, but in the position that you’re in, you appreciate it so much! He answered questions I didn’t even realize I had!!
Moving forward, I book the surgery date, and Lily was great about helping me with that too! Surgery day comes and, like most people, my anxiety was up! Prepping in the OR room at St. Francsis, even the surgical staff had a peaceful demeanor about them. My nurse anesthetist was so down to earth, we talked forever- about kids, family, etc. I never once thought to myself “What have I gotten myself into?!” Amazing. That’s all I know to say.
Waking up from surgery, my husband was there waiting on me. He was really nervous about the recovery, just having to take care of me. But after he had met with Dr. A and Dr. E, he was like ‘we got this, lets go home! ?’ They had both come and met with him after the surgery and given him detailed instructions on what to do, gave him their CELL PHONE number so that if we had any concerns at home we could call them directly! Who does that!? Awesome, compassionate, dedicated doctors, that’s who!!
I had a stitch break on one of my drains. All I had to do was text Lily and she had it set up for Dr. A to come in on his day off within 10 minutes. I had some extra fluid on one side of my stomach. Text Lily, and Dr. A was coming in again (out of his normal schedule) within minutes to drain it. I’m a little under 3 weeks post surgery and I’ve already gotten multiple compliments on how flat my stomach looks. I can’t wait to see in the weeks to come. As for my breasts, I have never been so excited to bra shop! For the first time in 26 years, I want to look at myself in the mirror, I want to wear a bikini in the month of November (?). I just love it. I am so thankful I made the decision to do this, and I am even more thankful I chose Dr. Aldea and Dr. Eby to do it. As far as I’m concerned- that are the best in the state, in the region, and in the country!
