I had Smart lipo MPX in January 2009. This was a huge expense for me and after talking with my Dr.I was convinced this would be a piece of cake and would be back to my busy active life in less then a week.

I am 5'4"134  very athletic and fit,I just had some areas that really bothered me....upper abs,love handles and inner thighs.Three months out and I am still swollen,have terrible lower back pain and no real earth shattering results.

I try to run everyday hoping to resume my fitness and now feel I am suffering from nerve damage in my back.I am scared to death I will have to live with this forever.Anyone else out there have this experience?

I am seeing my doctor next week and hoping for a solution.To boot....still have love handles,a wrinkled upper stomach and no difference on my thighs....total disaster!

Since this review my doctor has done a touch up in the area I was concerned about and I am now happy with the results.I no longer have back pain and I have healed completely.

I am happy to say that he has stood behind his work and did everyting possible to rectify the situation.I would now highly recommend him and spoke too soon with my initial review.

Results are all in, and I feel it's worth it.

I had smart lipo in Ct. 5 weeks this Friday...still same size. If there still hope?

I seriously doubt you'll see changes. I am at the six month mark with no changes. Friends and family say I look exactly the same even in a swim suit and are appalled at the money I spent.

I'm sure there is still hope although my results have not changed from the beginning.I guess it would depend on how much swelling you still have...can you tell?Interestingly,when I went to my post op 1 month I saw the Dr's assistant and she told me these were my results!I wasn't even going to see the Dr. that day until I told her about pain in my back....he pretty much brushed it off and told me to take aleve prior to working out and to come back in 2 months!For what?????

Do you still have any pain?This is my real concern?I am worried it is permnament....like my wrinkled new stomach!

I also had SL in the Houston area 10 months ago. After the procedure I had awful swelling, scarring, skin discoloration, numbness, hot needle pains, fluid filled pockets, lumps and loose skin. My doctor is still working with me to try to smooth out the lumps and tighten the loose skin. I did loose 14 lbs and look much better in jeans than I did, but no shorts for me yet. I am physically fit, work out several times a week, do weight training and dancing. Hopefully my wish to have legs that look good enough to wear shorts will come true before the summer this year!

Yes...I had it done in the Houston area, and there are a couple of others on this forum who also did. Some people had good results, others not so great. Mine are so-so, in fact I am having a touch up procedure next month to aiming for more optimal results. One thing is, make sure that you are wearing the right compression garment...my results got a little messed up because of it...wore the wrong one for way too long.
