I have experience with both Fractionated Erbium, Fraxel, Lumenis and Mixto. Our clinic settled on the Mixto because it is far superior to the others that we trialed. For clarification, the level of "downtime" with the Mixto is dependant on the settings used during a treatment. On the lightest setting there is aprox. 2-3 days, the highest settings can have up to 7 days downtime. The higher the setting the greater the result but also the risks increase. Patients should expect up to 6 months of redness (usually can be covered with makeup.) Hyperpigmentation is a risk with all Fractionated CO2 devices and the risk increases with darker complexions.

I personally have had the Mixto and love the results. You have to remember, everyone will not experience the same results and this is a LASER SURGERY and should be considered as such. When you go for your consulation, you should be shown pictures of what you will look like during recovery, told that you may have hyper or hypo pigmentation, and that you may experience up to 6 months of redness.
