I'm very confused about fraxel so far. I`ve had only one session of fraxel about six wks ago and I'm scheduled to have another tomorrow. I'm having fraxel mainly for acne scars and a little sun damage but mainly the acne scars.

They are acually tiny small to somwhat medium holes in my face. I'm more confused as to whether or not I need to stop before I spend another 1,100.00 for this type laser. I was thinking that maybe I need the fraxel repair and maybe get everything done right at once. However I also have hyperpigmentation, so I just don`t know.

Anyway, when I had this done six weeks ago, I looked in the mirror and saw numerous white patches mixed with the red. I was wondering if this was some what normal for everyone or is it my sensitive skin? My skin looked like the holes were bigger when he first finished but with time they basicly look the same. My main issues are the red patches and whether or not I should talk to some other doctors about some other lasers that would work better for me.

One last thing is that my doctor seems either obliviant or just uninterested about anything but money and pushing patients in and out. No that isn`t a surprise. Any input would be appreciated.

Would not recommend my doctor (obliviant or uninterested)So far cannot tell whether it will be worth it. Just can`t answer yes or no at the moment.I'll put no for unsure!

This is a serious procedure and you are paying a lot for it. If you can't get your concerns addressed with your doctor, that's not good. I had Fraxel Restore done for the same reasons as you and my provider was very thorough in explaining everything to me. They should have told you what to expect! The holes you are seeing could just be the columns of tissue the laser destroys (to prompt new collagen formation to plump out the scars). These turn into little brown dots (MENDS), which you are not supposed to scratch off. This is normal and they do shed. I would call your doctor and tell them you are not pleased and you are left uninformed. Maybe they will be happy to consult with you to address your concerns. If not, go somewhere else!!

If you don't have good feelings about your doctor don't see him again! I have white scars which were there prior to fraxel. The person doing my treatments said that these will not go away with fraxel, which I'm fine with. The white marks are in my acne scars and yes I notice them more because I believe the skin is flattening out a bit. CHECK OUT OTHER DOCTORS, THAT'S MY ADVICE!

STOP The white patches are not good sign... LOOK at my pictures... I had one session with the restore..... You are much safer doing an ablative procedure......I promise you..... Also look at the derma roller... If the are ice pick like holes.....I didn't have them before fraxel.... But have been able to get some to close up by using a lancet from the drugstore.....followed with TNS recovery serum.... Many reviews say there skin is much worse dark spots ect after they finish fraxel At first it looks little better and with a little time it gets much worse....

Thanks for advice everyone.Went ahead with second fraxel and this time there is a noticable difference especially with the sun damage. Started or shall I say communication was better this time with doctor and he started to actually do his job which was talk to the patient.I told him of my frustrations. He showed me my before and afters. Although thoses did not impress me he told me 45% of my skin had improved with the one.He told me alot of my acne scars were gone. All I can say is that I made the decision to try it again and I feel better this second time around because the difference is more visible. However I also believe he covered more area this time around or at least it felt that way. I had an excessive amount of numbing cream this go around and was very relaxed. I would recommend this to anyone because when you are in pain all you want to do is leave no matter what. Will see him again in six months,maybe less. Will keep results posted. Thanks again for input!!!
