Hello Ladies,
I have been cruising this site for a few weeks now and it has been so helpful and inspirational. I have had large breast forever. I don't remember them to ever be perky because they have always been very weighty. I am 47 for a few more weeks and am having BR in 6 days:) I have such a mix of emotions right now. I am 5'3 an 152. My frame is small and these boobs are killing my back and neck. Enough is enough. I am so tired of trying to find bras that fit. the right one will fit in a ddd but the left one is like h so I have to tuck it and fold it to fit in the cup. I have been wearing 2 bras for years. Beside that It is a challenge finding clothes especially dresses. Recently I lost alot of weight and the nipples point straight down to my shoues..not a good look. I am so looking foward to it and am glad I found this site. My insurance approval came back in less than two weeks and I am feeling so blessed.

Wow ... I cant believe I'm up at 6am on a Saturday ...3 more days til BR and I am nervous as hell.On my way to Walmart to do some last minute shopping. Cleaned out my closets and can't wait to start shopping for new clothes especially bras :)
I have to check in at the hospital @ 7am on Monday and surgery is at 10am. I can't imagine my body without big boobies. I feel so blessed to be able to make such a change not only for my health but I've always been self conscious about my size because they don't fit my frame. Now all I have to do is get rid of the muffin top and I will be happy. :)

Well the day is finally here.Getting ready to go to the hospital. I'm so nervous its crazy. I will post after pics as soon as I can. Good luck to all the ladies having there surgery today.

Good Morning Ladies
So yesterday was my surgery and I'm happy to have made it to the other side.I arrived at the hospital about 7 30 to prep and surgery was at 10. They worked on me for 3 hrs. The only thing that took me off guard was when the doc gave me a needle in the spine. no one had mentioned that to me prior.
Anyway,When I came home I was so lightheaded and week. You Definitely need help the first few days. The block they gave me was still working because the only thing I could feel was burning. I would say about 8 pm it wore off and omg I could feel everything. It is very painful to touch and the range of motion in my arms are limited. I posted a few po pics and I go ps appt tomorrow so I will have more to share.

Day 4 and the bruising is getting worse. Went for po visit yesterday and nothing was suggested for scar cream. Did you ladies put anything on at this point or is it to soon? I was thinking vitamin e oil ??? Also did you wear sports bra 24/7 or did you let them have air once or twice a day?

I am at the end of day 4 and it seems like the...

I am at the end of day 4 and it seems like the bruising is getting worse. Is that normal? does it mean i'm not resting enough?

To all the ladies out there with upcoming BR...

To all the ladies out there with upcoming BR surgery,I am here to tell you this is the best thing you can ever do for yourself.I feel like a different person. First off I felt immediate relief in my neck and back. I also feel so much more confident and sexy. I think big boobs make you look so much older and heavier than you are and it is so limiting as to what you can wear. It is such a great feeling. So if you are having doubts or feeling nervous it is normal but the feeling that you have when its all said and done makes it all worth it.
I am 8 days in and I would say that what I feel at this point is discomfort. Pain only lasted about 3 days. I have had a lot of bruising not sure if its because I didn't have drains or if its normal. I am starting to get a little itchy ,nothing crazy and my nipples are always hard...ALWAYS. It has been cold the last few days and they are extremely sensitive. Although I am healing well ,I couldn't imagine returning to work this early. I know some ladies may not have a choice but if you do have available time to take off ..take it...Its not about pain its about being healed thoroughly .This is a major surgery and you go through to much to cut corners and risk having a set back.
I go for my second post op visit today..Not sure if he is gonna take out the sutures today or not. I will keep you posted!

I was wondering if when the swelling goes down could I be a whole cup size down? im fitting in a 36D and I am day 9 po...Could I be a 36C when its all said and done or will it not go down that much?

My post op appt went well yesterday. My stitches were removed and the nurse put some type of glue on the incisions and said I was healing very well. I'm ready to start shopping for some real bras..getting tired of the sports bra...Wondering if I will ever be able to sleep on my stomach without pain. Sometimes when I sleep I end up on my stomach and the discomfort wakes me up. They are sore ALL dsy every day. Hopefully this will fade with time. Overall I am very happy and would do it all over again.

Monday was my first day back ti work after suregery. I was able to take 4 weeks off which was a blessing. Surprisingly ,I am more sore and tender now than I was at 2wks po. They are so tender and sensitive to cold. I mean it feels like there are wholes in my chest and the cold air is blowing through at full speed,so uncomfortable. I am hoping this will pass soon. I mean I live in the south not alaska and i am freezing cold always. The nipples are always hard...always and shows through everything I wear and still can't sleep on my stomach. I am so glad i had it done I just wasnt expecting what I'm feeling. This has been a rough week. Everything I wear rubs against them ...not sure what to do. Well I'm taking some tylenol and hitting the bed. Bye for now

It is hard to believe it has been 10 weeks already. I am getting used ti my new girls. That crazy sensitivity I was having is almost gone.I have noticed that they are not as perky as they were but I think they look very natural and I am satisfied. Once the swelling went away I still seem to be at the same size 36 D or 38 C. I have only bought one bra from vs. I am not impressed at all. Kohls and JCpenney work fine for me and are more in my budget. I am on a diet now trying to lose about 20 lbs by November. I am going on a cruise and would love to wear a nice Tankini minus the stomache and back fat. I am hoping my boobies don't become pancakes in the end but I'll keep you posted.. lol For all the ladies with upcoming surgeries..Good luck. It is one of the best things you could ever do for yourself. Even with the discomfort I had I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Shrinking

I'm almost at the 4 month mark and the the girls are shrinking. Between losing a few pounds and the swelling going away they have changed alot. My advice to the newbies is to where a bra as much as possible because they do drop after swelling subsides. They are still perkier then I have ever been prior to BR but nowhere near what they were like after surgery. Good Luck

Hi lesh, You and I had our surgery's around the same time. I agree with you, between the swelling and the weight loss, mine seem smaller to me too. Love, love, love them though and I like that I can go braless now which was not an option before. ; )

Hey yes I remember and you look fabulous!

Hey I have a suggestion for the hard nipples, try the breast pads like the ones used post pregnancy for leaking nipples. Can he purchased at local stores Walmart, target or Kmart or under $10 for a box of 60.

Your boobs look great! They're very perky but full, which is something not all "after" boobs end up like. I would recommend you recheck your bra size, though. In that picture you posted with the lacy VS bra, the gore of the bra doesn't sit up against your rib cage, which means the cup size is too small. I like this guide: http://bustyresources.wikia.com/wiki/How-to_determine_bra_size

Thanks so much. The vs bra was bought wen i was still very swollen so that could be why it didn't fit well but it now does Thanks for the website

Hi Lesh, sorry to hear about the discomfort you're in. My breasts were awfully sensitive as well, and what I did and still do is line my bra with silk satin. What you do is cut a circle or oval big enough to cover the girls (one oval per cup), drape the fabric over your breast and make sure it lies as smoothly as possible, also make sure the fabric sticks out underneath the bra, so the bra fabric doesn't come in contact with the scars. This really helps. Silk is expensive but you don't need very much, half a yard should suffice.

So much more chic than nursing pads - I love it :)

Lol, yes I suppose you could say that ;O) I did try nursing pads but they were too coarse. Hah, the modern day version of the princess and the pea :)

Hi lesh, I'm in the same week as you, except I go back in my 6th week to work. I kind of dread it because I feel soooo out of shape and I'm in the same boat as you, sore! I think it's because the numbness is going away and the feeling is coming back. Sometimes, I will have sharp pains. I'm still using neosporin. I bought kelocote for scarring, think I will start using that when I go back to work. You use it for 3 months, twice a day. It's supposed to be really great for scars!! I bought it from my doctor. I bought a padded sports bra, which helps alot too, with the soreness. I believe he told me to wait a little while before I bought a real bra, with underwire and etc..... Anyway, hang in there and you will be 100% in no time. CHINS UP!! :O) I'm right there with ya!

I think I've read some posts about silicone cups which you can put over your nips so they don't show through everything. I've been using nursing pads tucked into my bra which work well and provide a cushioned barrier between my breasts and the bra fabric. I know what you mean about being super-sore though, I feel more sore now than I did at the beginning (I'm just approaching 7 weeks). I think possibly once we start being more active things seem to ache a bit more, so important to rest when you can and take pain meds when needed. Don't forget there are all the internal stitches that time to heal. It's a long process and a bit of a rollercoaster ride, but it will be worth it in the end! You look fantastic - love the VS bra and the pink sweater!

you are so right when i am home i dont feel as bad. I think its because I work in a Drs office and they keep the air on all the time and Im so sensitive to cold right now. Thank you so much for the compliments :)
