1 month post op

I had my 1 month post op consult today. Let me start by saying this has been a loooong month for me. I had BB trouble since my first PO 2 days after my surgery. It wasn't infected but very swollen, more swollen than the rest of the abdomen, it looked awful. I was soaking this bad boy with warm water and Epsom salt 3xday for 20 mins each time for the following 2 weeks...and very close f/u by my PS. Today at my 5th (yes, 5TH) visit to his office he smiled and said - That's the BB I gave you...we had a good laugh. Im glad that is behind me and I'm on the road to a normal looking BB. My scar is looking good, I start scar treatment today, using Scarguard MD prescribed by my PS.
I am wearing a stg 2 compression garment from MARENA during the day and back to my old first garment during the night. I was able to sleep on my side last night YAY!!! The swelling is a daily occurrence specially after 3 PM, my sides, hip and upper abdomen are the worst, my lower abdomen just feels tight and I hunch down like an old lady after sitting for a long period of time.
Oh well, one day at a time right ladies?
I'm cleared to start with light exercises next week, nothing extraneous, no high impact exercises. I will start on the treadmill and slowly advance to light weights, I'm so excited to return to the gym.
Well, I think this is it for now... Happy healing to all remember to rest and take it slowly. HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Xoxo
Pictures to follow.

POD 6

Hello RS ladies. Today is my second PO visit and I'm hoping to get my drains out. They have been draining less tha 15cc each for the last 24h...these things are so annoying. My pain level has been up and down depending on how I follow my pain med schedule. I've tried taking Tylenol ES during the day and safe the Oxy for night but didn't work, I was in pain. I'm decreasing the Oxy to 2 in Am one in PM and 2 before bed and it's helping.
My PS had me on the CG since after the sx and I haven't taken it out aince. I can feel it is getting looser around my waist area, maybe it's time to change to a smaller size, I will ask him today.
It's a happy feeling when I try to "suck in" my tummy and there's nothing there to be sucked in...lol.
I wish the best to all of you RS ladies on the healing road and to the ones on the pre op fase...hang in there and take day by day. It gets better!
Xoxo
