Day 20

Things are starting to be a little more normal. I have my 3 week PO appointment tomorrow- I will update you all then. I have been on (PS Instructed/Prescribed) Accolate 2x a day since last Wednesday. I have also been doing downward massage/exercise during this time as instructed only on the right side- It still has not caught up, my left is falling and fluffing nicely. Even has a little more jiggle every day :) Well I will update all tomorrow after my appointment. :)

Hey ladies, to fill you in on my last 8 days: 1....

Hey ladies, to fill you in on my last 8 days:
1. Surgery day- went well, I didn't even realize I had fallen asleep and before I knew it, I was sitting up in recovery with boobies looking at my husband. The main thing I remember was talking A LOT!! I kept telling myself to hush, I just couldn't shut up. LOL!! We stayed in a hotel this night. The pain meds were not allowing me to sleep so the PS said to take some Benadryl with them- worked like a charm.
2. Post op- still had to keep the compression strap over them and the rolled towel between them but I was not in any major pain unless I used my arm muscles to stand or brace when sitting down. We drove home this day and due to the pain meds, I don't remember much of the drive other than bumps, bridges, railroads and pot holes- HURT.
3. This day was the worst- couldn't eat, couldn't sleep- it seemed as if there was no end in sight. This night was the worst for sleeping, I could not get comfortable at all. My children (ages 2 & 8) also came home this afternoon.
4. Woke up early- My father stayed overnight with me to help with the kids the next morning. Got them off to school, the hubby went to work and my father went home. I slept most of this day- I was able to get comfortable and it was not bad at all. I only took the pain meds once this day. No more pain meds after this day.
5. No real changes- still wearing the compression strap and feeling miserable- That thing bothers me big time.
6.1 week PO appt- Still have to wear the strap for one more week- Ugh!! I was able to remove the towel between the girls though, that relieved some discomfort. I was told I was healing perfectly and was told to start using Neo/Poly sporin on my incisions. I was also released to (if able) have sex with my husband. On a positive note- I was able to drive for 4-5 hours this day (first day behind the wheel) I was very tired that night.
7. I think I over did it a little today- really wanting my home back in order and some sexy time with my husband- I cleaned the kitchen (counters, dishes, sweeping and moping- also laundry and bathing the baby hunched over the tub) Then after the girls were in bed- it took a while finding a comfortable position but the *magic* happened. (The week prior to surgery was *that time of the month* so this was much needed together time). Sorry if that is TMI- just wanting to warn those that are considering it of the discomfort during and the morning after.
Today. woke up sore, swollen, my right side is throbbing... Definitely over-did it yesterday. BUT- my house is cleaner and I had some time to share with my husband which was much desired.
I still do not have full arm mobility but it gets better day by day. I cannot pick up my 2 year old without hurting later. I can hold her, so if she gets up on the bed or in a chair I can carry her- its just that dead lift from the floor.
**I will post photos soon.
