47 Years Old Neck Lift/Lower Face Lift - Columbus, OH

I am 48 years old and of average height and weight and I am a smoker. Up until my early forties when my neck and jowls started sagging, most people guessed my age as being early thirties. From about age 42 I began dreaming of having a neck lift. I waited until I was old enough it would last through my fifties (hopefully) but yet young enough to ensure I still had elasticity to my skin. I did some research and found Dr. James McMahan of Advanced Aesthetic & Laser Surgery in Columbus, Ohio, about 2 hours drive time for me. I went for my consultation in July 2014. The staff was so friendly and easy to work with and they made me feel so comfortable. Dr. McMahan took his time with me explaining every step, recovery, possible complications, etc. After looking at my neck and lower face, Dr. McMahan explained what he could do and how a lower face lift in addition to a neck lift would take care of both the neck and jowl sagging. I scheduled my surgery that day for about a month later. Dr. McMahan was adamant that I quit smoking at least four weeks before the surgery and showed me how your skin can die after having these types of procedures. I listened to him and quit smoking in time to safely have my surgery. Don’t think you can lie and smoke before and after surgery because you will have complications! I am so glad he reinforced to me how important it was. I went to Riverside Outpatient for the surgery and it was fantastic! All of the staff there were amazing: From the lady who checked me into the hospital until the nurse who helped me dress before I left. I stayed the night at a local hotel and visited Dr. McMahan the next morning. His nurse took very good care of me and Dr. McMahan took the time to answer all of my questions. I returned to the doctor three days later to have some stitches removed then two days later to have the final stitches removed. Each time I visited the office, Dr. McMahan and his staff treated me very well and I never had to wait long. I think the longest time I waited in the waiting room was five minutes. Dr. McMahan saw me two weeks post op then again 2 months later. My results as of now (Nov 12, 2014) are unbelievable! When he showed me the “before” pictures today, I was shocked at how much older and heavier I looked. I am so happy with the results so far and know that the swelling can take up to a year to fully resolve. I would recommend Dr. McMahan to anyone who is looking to have plastic surgery to improve your looks and self-confidence! He is truly a wonderful doctor who really cares about you and your outcome!
