1 Week After Surgery
Well, it's been a week since I came home with the new girls. I have to say, I'm already pretty used to them, like they are just a part of me. Not to say, they aren't uncomfortable... they are still tight and the incisions are really starting to itch, but for the most part they feel pretty normal! They are starting to take their shape as well. At my one week checkup, my doc said they are still far from how they will look. He said as the muscles relax and loosen up, they will "fluff out" and get closer together. I'm already pretty happy, it's really awesome to have breasts for the first time in my life!
I honestly do wish that I had gone bigger, though. The biggest disappointment was when I ran into a friend who knew I was getting them done, and the first thing she said to me was "Did you get your boobs done? They aren't that big!" Ouch. I think I realized that I don't look that much different in my cloths. Out of the cloths- well sure! But in them, looks about like I did when I had my padded bras on. I even tried on my old swim suits, and while I look significantly more awesome in them... they still fit, which was a bummer. So, my advice to anyone considering getting them done- go bigger than you think.
Anyway, just a couple things that I have learned the last few days:
1. If you drive a manual car, it will take longer for you to get back to driving. Shifting gears hurts!
2. If you are cold enough to shiver, your peck muscles tense up, and HOLY MOLY it hurts!
3. Have multiple sports bras to wear after the surgery, because one will rub or press or squeeze certain areas, and you will just want to get out of it and into something else!
I'll continue to update as things progress!

Day 3 after surgery
Well, I think I overdid myself. I woke up this morning feeling great, and my friend text me a picture of what she looked like in one of her workout shirts, which motivated me to try on a few of my things. I tried on some strapless dresses and some shirts that I used to have to layer to cover up what I didn't have. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. When I did my 'water bag' test, I also tired on a few outfits, and I feel like most of those just made me look fat. But today, trying on the same things, I felt like I looked more balanced, just like I had big boobs. I'll say this- they won't be the first thing that walks into a room... which I may have wanted a bit more of, but, they won't be overlooked, either. :)
Now, however, I'm really sore. lol. Too much putting my arms over my head to take things on and off. Time to relax and watch a movie. I still haven't ventured out of my house since the surgery. Lol, call it an excuse to be lazy. My life is normally so hectic that I'm lucky if I get 10 minutes of 'me' time. I took off this whole week so that I could recover, before going back to work next Monday. I'd say, realistically, I could have probably gone back today, or even yesterday, if I was feeling ambitious. I don't have a very strenuous job though, I just work on a computer all day. But it's been really nice to just lay around, sleep, watch tv, do whatever to 'heal' these past few days. Totally worth it. :) Tomorrow, though, I'm going to have to dress up, go out and face the world!

Day 2 after surgery
Well, things are going much better today! I hit the 48 hour mark post-surgery, which meant I was allowed to shower!! Just to be able to wash off the dried blood and pull off the bandages felt so much better. The girls are doing good. Getting much softer, feel less like hard balls beneath my skin. They are also starting to take their shape a bit more. There is still a lot of swelling, but mostly the muscles under my arms and the space where my cleavage is. I'm actually really surprised how far apart my breasts still are. My friend said that is normal, and once the swelling goes down they will become even softer and closer together. I hope they don't get too much smaller. I'm already kind of wishing that the doc had gone bigger, like we had talked about. I have full feeling, no numbness at all. The pain is going down significantly too- to the point where I didn't take any meds all day today. I probably will tonight before bed, just because it's still really uncomfortable to sleep. But tomorrow's another day, and every day's been getting a little easier!
