Road to recovery
I cannot believe it’s been 7 days; I feel amazing , but still not able to get comfortable in bed. The recliner has become my new bestie! The drain lines are driving me crazy – output has tampered off but not enough to pull them. On that note, Things I did not anticipate:
•having a TT recovery wardrobe – I bought plenty of losing fitting activewear pants… however, tee dresses would be way more comfortable because of the drain lines and incision. Running out to buy some tomorrow. ?
•I was not prepared for the back spasms and pain … The tummy pain is bearable, other than an occasional shooting pain or unexpected burning sensation…however, as I become more mobile the startling back spasms that stops me dead in my tracks . Whoa, I need muscle relaxers more than the pain meds.
•The amount of aftercare, assistance needed. My family has been wonderful, husband took last week off work. Our daughter is home from college; this week she is staying home with me until my husband gets off work. She’s doing all the cooking, and keeping the house tidy… to ensure that I’m well rested and make a speedy recovery. I’m so, blessed! I could not imagine going through this without them.
Everyday I’m feeling better, Thanking God for my many blessings and opportunities.
