(Quick drain question) Tummy Tuck After Three Kids - Cincinnati, OH

OK, I hope I'm posting this in the right place... I've finally scheduled the tummy tuck I've wanted ever since I had my first child 15 years ago and ended up with an emergency c-section and the dreaded "belly flap" that hangs over my scar.

I'm nervous about it and even though I consider myself to have a high tolerance for pain, I am scared of how bad it will hurt and I absolutely can't stand the thought of drains hanging out of me. It is both a help and a hinderance that Christmas time is upon me, because it keeps me busy (and therefore I don't think about the surgery constantly) but it is also stressing me a little that it's coming up so quickly (if that makes any sense!).

I will try to take some pics soon so I can post my before and after.

Just over 14 hours to go--nervous as can be! I took some before pics yesterday--I am hoping to get them uploaded soon. Any tips for how to keep my anxiety low??? And is it a good idea to take waist measurements if I am only having a TT and not lipo? And finally, this is kind of a dumb question, but what type of underwear should I wear tomorrow? Will they send me home in the mesh type that they give you post-partum or should I wear something like briefs? I usually wear bikinis but I don't want anything going across my incision area.

Two days post-op and I'm not feeling too bad right now. Yesterday I had intense, horrible shooting pains in my left drain area that felt like they were burning. I haven't done the great unveiling yet but will later today when I tackle the shower, lol

Quick question about stripping or milking the drains. Do you do that while the bulb end is still capped or when you have it open for emptying out the liquid?

OK, I just tackled the shower, and let me tell you-I am exhausted! While in the shower I noticed my right upper thigh was jiggly, which is not its normal state. Is this fluid collection? And will it go away?

So far so good (I think, lol). I finally got the second drain removed 1 week post op. The nurse said she couldn't believe how flat I looked and how well I was getting around (not quite straight up but almost). I was able to go off my pain meds after the 5th day. Still not sleeping comfortably though because I am a side sleeper and I wake up when I try to roll from back to side overnight. I have the go-ahead to switch out to a different compression garment so I'm still wearing my regular binder while trying to decide which to choose (I have the gelzone wrap, a spanx garment and then I ordered two online the other day that haven't arrived). My first full day of work is tomorrow, so I am hoping all goes well. Only real complaint right now is the ITCHING!!! I am allergic to adhesive and the tape over my stitches is driving me crazy. I hope it comes off soon but I am going to start taking benadryl to see if that helps... I've been taking pics during my process and will hopefully get around to posting them one day soon.
