After nursing my children my breasts had lost any fullness and I had a horizontal as well as a vertical C-section scar. The scars were raised and puckered. I didn't feel good about my body image. I was concerned about having the procedures because I just wasn't sure what the results would be. I wanted something proportionate to my body, modest, not something that would leave me looking out of balance. (No stripper figures please)

Dr. Maier was patient and very understanding. I wasn't happy with the first fitting for the augmentation and called to cancel. The nurse asked me why and I explained I thought they were just too big. She encouraged me to come in and he fitted me again with a smaller pair. I think I would still like them smaller (DD now) but my husband is thrilled. ;-) It was difficult for me to determine during a fitting since you don't have exactly the right bra to fit the samples into. It may have been helpful to have taken a specific dress/top to see what it would look like with the implants. It's just a big difference for me but my family says they are perfectly suited to my body build. That's very important. The night before surgery the nurse called to change my surgery because of an allergy to anesthesia that the anesthetist hadn't given enough attention to previously. Without complaine, Dr. Maier made changes to his schedule in order to get my surgery done the following day. I couldn't rearrange my vacation time due to job constraints. He changed where my surgery was to be done because it would be safer for me as a patient to have it in a hospital versus a surgery center due to the anesthesia allergy. Dr. Maier has an understanding and gentle bedside manner. He took great pains to mark my body correctly prior to surgery to ensure that the results would be what we discussed. He is an artist with scars. My belly button looks like the one God gave me, no sign of a scar and the scars under my breasts are invisible. He displayed care and compassion after the surgery and handled every issue without making me feel that I was bothering him. I had a reaction to the pain medicine and had to get a different prescription. I had a small accumulation of fluid under the tummy tuck scar which he removed as gently as possible. He never seemed to be in a hurry and took his time during the post op visits. At times I felt I was visiting with a friend. He would ask about my daughter's wedding plans with what seemed to be genuine interest. (She was getting married 2 months after the procedure). If I ever needed body work done again, I would definitely use Dr. Maier. Even his office staff made me feel special. They always expressed how much they enjoyed seeing me at the post op visits. It was nice to know that if I needed something, they were glad to help. It's been 2 years since my surgery and I am still thrilled with the results. I'm so glad I used Dr. Maier.
