I'm going back.

This wasn't a good value for me. I probably needed a 4th syringe back in Jan., and I definitely do now since, evidently, I have metabolized this stuff like crazy. Lasted well under a year. Am hoping one syringe will do it--dr thinks it will--and I'm also hoping only one will have a much easier recovery than last time! I came here to re-read my old review as a way to brace myself. I'll update this week. Good luck, everyone.

update 6 months later

Real Self urges me to update. It's the least I can do as much as I use this site! Thanks, everyone, for sharing various self-improvement journeys. I'm sorry I'm not willing to post photos but I shall try and provide details.

Overall, I am happy with it, cost aside, because for a slight lift and pulling some acne scars tighter as a side effect, it did its job rather well. I do feel it is losing its look/volume slightly, here at only 6-7 months into. At this rate, I would say I'll be good for a year, I don't know about the 18 months+ promised. I did not go back to this provider (nurse at PS office) because I didn't click with her at all. I have since found a new provider and totally different practice (cosmetic dermatologist) with a gentler disposition and far less pushy approach, so I will see what she says come 1 yr. mark.

Downsides: As mentioned, I have had a problem with swelling on warm, humid days. It looks lumpy under the eye area. Some people are prone to this, and I am one of them. Even though Voluma is supposed to be less prone to swelling issues, it's not the case for me. On these days, I feel I look a tad "done" and unnatural, but still decent, and my under eye area has always been prone to swelling on occasion when due to poor sleep, sinus, etc.; this just made it worse, and more ridge-like.

Please feel free to ask questions. I'll try and report again at the 1-yr mark if not before.

Subtle results, finally healed

If price weren't an issue, I would be happy with the results. However, I think I need one more syringe and I can't afford the cost or the downtime.

I was warned I could have bruising, swelling, bumps and tenderness for "up to 2 weeks." I did, it took me a full 2 weeks for that to go away, one or more of those issues at all times, coming and going. I am not sure if it was the injector, am sure that individual will say it's just me.

Fast forwarding to end result, my eye hollows look better and uneven texture has improved as an effect of the overall subtle lift in cheeks and temples, and so far filler cannot be seen or felt. I feel like I look better and makeup goes on better, etc., but I haven't gotten any compliments since the swelling went down!
