Went for several years, spent thousands of dollars, and hair kept coming back. I went as often as was required and never skipped appointments. The hair began to slow in my underarms but never ceased. All other areas it was completely ineffective. I decided to stop completely because it was a waste of money and 3 months later, hair in underarms is just as thick as it was before.
How frustrating! Sounds like you gave it your best shot though.
