No More Baggy Eyes! - Chicago, IL

So I've had bags under my eyes for years. The reason I went to the doctor. He's an Ocuplastic Surgeon is because of the lazy I that I have. It was bothering me some and I believed that it was messing with my vision. Needless to say that I was correct. Because my upper lids are affecting my vision my insurance company is paying for the upper eyelid lift which my doctor said will corerct the laziness of my eye. But he also mentioned the heavy undereye bags and said to get the best results that I should get both. Lord know that the underye bags are more bothersome to me than the lazy eye. So I am so excited not to have to pay for the upperlid sugery. I am so psyched that I will look more youthful and I read and researched that when you are looking to get your eyes done to look to an ocuplastic surgeon as they specialize in the eys. Dr. Putterman has done amazing work with children who have disfigurement and people with the wandering eyes so I know he will do great with my eyes.

So in 25 days and counting I will be going under the knife. Im scared but excited at the same time. I know it can take up to a year to see full results but anything is better than what I see staring back at me when I look in the mirror. Hopefully next year I will be getting my tummy tuck and brazilian butt lift. One procedure at a time. I'm dealing with a lot in my life as far as health wise so I figure if I have to be disabled for the rest of my life I may as well look good in the meanwhile. I refuse to be disabled physically and look like crap! I know that sounds vain but if you guys know what I go through on a daily basis you would root for me. SO ROOT FOR ME ANYWAY!! #TEAM NO MORE BAGGY EYES! :)

As of today i am not a fan of this surgery..if i could go back and not do it. I wouldn't go through with it..Its not worth it..i guess when you are vain God had a way of teaching you a lesson. My lesson has been learned. I don't care about having bags anymore...I would not recommend this surgery to anyone. EVER!!! Its just not with the pain and downtime..my eyes stay tired and sore..all i can do is sleep..Writing this review is pain..watching Tv..any type of lights on my eyes are horrible...I'M LITERALLY PISSED

Went to the doctor today and they measured, poked and prodded...Doc says I'm still very swollen so he prescribed me prednisone..same thing he tried to give me right out of surgery but i didn't want it because i thought it would make me fat...well six days later my face still swollen so I'm going to take it for 5 days only...two.more weeks and i can wear my contacts again...so hate my glasses..i think my eyes are starting to open up just a little..Hopefully in another week I will be okay. :)

Let me try this again for the third time......

Let me try this again for the third time....grrrrr

The first 4 days were pure hell... by day 5 my eyes weren't as irritated. Had a post op appoinmtnent on day 6 and was presribed prednisone...On Thursday morning I was awaken to pain in my left eye feeling like there was a small pebble insided of my eye...I tried pm rephresh and regular rephresh and antibiotic ointment to no avail. I was up for three hours until finally the valium I took kicked in. Was back in the docs office on Thursday afternoon for evaluation where I was told that what I was experiencing was the sutures/stitches dissolving and breaking down. The doc put a bandage contact in my left eye so that while suture heals I have no irritation as contact in is...in the meanwhile I was prescribed another antibiotic ointment to put in said left eye and I go back to the doctor next Thursday.

POSITIVES: The swelling has went down a lot since Monday and bags are less noticeable...however they have been replaced by dark circles under my eyes. I never had these prior to the surgery. Upon further research I found that what I'm experiencing is just bruising. I went and brought me some Scar Zone Bruise Cream from Walgreens which has Arnica Montana and Vitamin K which is supposed to break down the blood vessels and make the dark circles and swelling go away...the undereye healing is much faster than the upper eyelids...why I don't know but Im glad Im not irritated and hope nothing else comes up. I can't wait to see my eyes open up from the upper eyelid lift.

Look at you! Fabulous! So after reading all of us whining for the first couple weeks you were surprised when it happened to you:-) I know, it's always worse when it's you. You look great.

You look beautiful and your eyes look great . I have always had one I a wee bit bigger than the other even before surgery.even in baby pics. Only one who ever noticed was my mama and she thinks its fun and cute. Get out of the mirror . I think youre examining your face way to close. Go show the world the new you!!! Go live!

Take a deep breath. Face surgery is difficult. On my 2nd day I had to drive myself for checkup, it was hard to see. As I sat in my little room I could hear the patient in the next room delighted with her new boobs, and there I sat a purple, swollen and bloody stitches. My surgeon walked in a laughed cause I was so swollen. I told him I was jealous of the happy patient. He said there was Always a HUGE different after surgery reaction between body vs facial surgery. Look at my day one and even day 7. Day 7 my eye was still bloody and lids still swollen. My cheeks are still streaked with bruising. At that point I still iced many times a day and still used steroid drops. Take a deep breath. You are still in normal range. I hope your doctors office is supporting you. We are all supporting you. I don't think God is punishing you. God is right there- so trust him too.

Thank you for being so honest,I will think twice to ever have this done.. I sincerely hope you feel better real soon,it sounds like you are in a lot of pain!
Sexcieyes32 6 Apr 2013
I'm just uncomfortable, unrecognizable and inconvenienced...i don't know what i was thinking what this would be like but definitely not this...Maybe its because its my face, my eyes...other plastic surgery scars can be hidden..but I'm in pain, my eyes are tearing..I'm just miserable right now...I KNOW ONE THING Manni..i better look ten to fifteen years younger..i better look real good cause this is hell
Sexcieyes32 6 Apr 2013
Thanks Manni..i hope i feel better soon as well...God made us in his own image and we should be happy with what he gave us..I Had men wanting to date me even with the bags..should've left it alone

hope you are progressing well. thinking of you!
Sexcieyes32 6 Apr 2013
I wish i could go back because i wouldn't do this again..Vanity is a sin..Id rather have baggy eyes than deal with what I'm feeling right now...very regretful..although i know that i will look awesome when i heal i still don't think its worth the aftercare...No more surgery for me
CARLY52 6 Apr 2013
I agree with you, I'm almost 2 weeks post op. I wish I never did this. I was left with a droopy left lower lid and massive swelling. My lid was drooped in recovery. I knew then, I was going to have problems. My right eye is healing beautifully. At least your results will be beautiful...
Sexcieyes32 6 Apr 2013
Oh no..I'm sorry Carly...my left eye is more swollen than the right..something isn't right..one eye bigger than the other...check back tomorrow..I'm going to post pictures so everyone can see how I'm healing...I'd sweat I'm more swollen today than i was the day of and next day after
