I didnt have Botox done for over a year. Now I need to start over. After you have Botox often, you can spread appointments and get it less often. I couldn't wait to get BOTOX. I didnt do it because I was pregnant and now I can move my forehead and getting small line between my eyebrows, I absolutely hate that line. So, I had 40 ii injected today between my eyebrows, and on the whole forehead, I have discount with this place, so it cost me $9.00 per cube.

It used to work within 6-7 days. Today is what, day 8th? I still can move my eyebrows but my eyebrows now lifted so it looks much much better

I still can move my eyebrows up and I still could...

I still can move my eyebrows up and I still could scrunch my brows. I addressed it to my doctor and she said I should wait few more days?
I love results, my eyebrow lifted and looks like I got instant lift and look younger, but I still can move them up and still can make frowny face, which is not cool, I am afraid I will get a line there, between my eyebrows... so she said wait and I came hoping to get like 10 more to get better results...
What do you guys think?

I had not been able to login to realself, my login wasn't working... sorry.
After this appointment I had another one and had 20 units injected between my eyebrows. It did lessen my wrinkle, but yet I am havimg more injected this Tuesday. I had never had a problem before with botox, it was always working with smaller dosage. I guess because I made such a huge gap between injections, now I need more to make it work... I hate the line between eyebrows. pS I already spent over $600 on Botox in three months

Well, I had another 20 units of Botox injected...

Well, I had another 20 units of Botox injected between my eyebrows. Still isnt working the way it is usually working. I am kind of upset. I will change an esthetician at this point

I went to another place and they injected another...

I went to another place and they injected another 10 units into my wrinkle between eyebrows because it just refused to freeze after my three visits to esthetician! hopefully it will work this time! I paid $12 per unit. It was Tuesday, today is Friday, I will wait for few days to see if it works! I cant believe that 12 or so months I didnt do injections put me so much behind and cost me so much money to restart!

Imagine this... changed esthetician, had 20 units...

Imagine this... changed esthetician, had 20 units injected a week ago between eyebrows - wrinle is still there and I still can move my eyebrows together... wow, I will never ever have another break like this because it stops working fully!

Could my botox be affected by Retin-a? and could this be a reason why it isnt working?

I dont think it could be affected

I just read your update asking if your Botox could be affected by Retin-a. I don't think so, but clearly I'm not a doctor. I used both for a while, and while I ended up quitting Retin-a I didn't notice it interfering with the efficacy of my Botox. Here is a Q&A where a couple of the board certified doctors who volunteer on RealSelf seem in favor of using them together:

Botox and Retin-A ... Use at the Same Time?

My botox was not enough to stop my lines so I had juvederm, that also was weakened by my strong forehead muscles. I do believe if the botox is injected in the right spot it would work. Instead of spending more money on injections, look for a more qualified dr who isnt willing to poke so much and get the right spots.

I never thought Juvedeerm can weaken muscles, it is a filler, isnt it? for lips and such?

how come you have to stop Botox during pregnancy? are there bad potential side effects? hormonal effects?
Brandysbeauty 17 Mar 2013
yes they recommend to stop when breastfeeding and pregnant

why do they have you frown and wrinkle your forehead? I dont understand why they do that. It is obvious that you are doing both. I had botox once and they made me to for pics. It should be natural not forced. You look good though!

jamieileana007, I think they do that to show the difference in they dynamic wrinkles. Here is a Q&A that might help further explain the reason:

Is Botox Only Good for Certain Face Wrinkles and Lines?

they need to know how your muscles work

I can understand your frustration, but would rather see a doctor taking a conservative approach, as it sounds like yours is doing, rather than injecting more prematurely, then hearing that you are getting eyebrow droop. I know its hard, but do your best to be very patient and allow the adjustments to be done little by little. Hopefully you two will figure out a great treatment plan for you, and this adjustment period will be behind you soon. :)

Congratulations on your pregnancy!! I hope that went well for you, and am so glad to hear that you knew to stop Botox during your pregnancy.

Its great that you are able to start back up now. It will be very interesting to hear if it lasts a while for you, or if it will be like starting the first time again. Please keep us posted on what you notice.
