“Glad I Did It but Realize Now I Did Not Really Need to - Chicago, IL”
Spent: $9,000 in Chicago
Posted 26 Mar 2011
Did it almost 3 years ago. I waited until I knew I was completely bald. I am no longer bald from the front & sides but remaining baldness visible from above, behind & thin hair visible when wet. Hard to sleep 1st 2 nights. Smiling hurt for about 6 months. Hairline at back of neck now too short (in my opinion) for a 2nd procedure to thicken treated area or cover remaining bald area.
I was a teacher and had it done 1st Monday of summer vacation. After Labor Day only one student (a freshman) and one teacher ever asked about it. But it looked awful at first and was definitely noticeable for most of the summer. Hard to see back there but my wife & I see no scar.

No hard sell. I waited a year between consultation and surgery. A plastic surgeon who advertises prominently in Chicago magazine called Bosley "a mill" but my thinking is, do you want a specialist or a jack of all trades?

Hi Joe,
Congrats on the new hair! Good plan on having the procedure done over the summer. You mentioned your hair was still a bit thin are you going back for another treatment? You also mentioned you waited till you knew you were completely bald. Did you doctor recommend that? Please keep us updated and if you are comfortable sharing pictures we would love to see them.
Thanks so much for your review,
-Britt
