I was surprised how well I was after the operation much better than I thought I would be. I am sure I will be happy with the results once the swelling has gone down.

I had a tummy tuck 2 weeks ago and over the past few days I have swelled up quite noticeably. Should I be resting more or exercising more to help reduce this. It is quite uncomfortable and painful to touch. Is this normal? i was so pleased with my results straight after the op and i felt really well considering but now I feel like im not progressing at all. Any help or guidance much appreciated thanks.

I am 1 month post op and I also fould that at two weeks I was not getting any better. At three weeks I started to feel like my old self again, but I am still very numb and it still hurts to wear jeans. I wrap an ace bandage around my belly and that seems to help. My lower abs are also still very swollen.

The fluid is settling low (gravity) and causing the swelling. Rest, drink lots of water and hang on. It'll flush out soon and you'll be looking awesome!!!

Please give yourself time. It is still way to early. Do not do any exercise unless directed by your PS. You've come this far and don't want to mess up now do you? Please be patient, easy and nice to yourself. The swelling will go down. You will heal and love the results!!!!

My PS nurse said when working out too early it can cause swelling. You might want to take it easy, just go on walks or something easy to start out.
