Almost one week post op!
I can't believe tomorrow will be an entire week since my MM. I will go in to get the drain removed~hallelujah!!! That thing hasn't been horrendous, but the suture site stings so I'll be glad to be rid of it. I stopped taking muscle relaxers and Percocet early yesterday because I felt it would help me with be constipation/gas. I haven't had a BM in 7 days (which is not unusual for me), but I've taken colace 2xs day religiously, added yogurt, prune juice, lots of water and coffee to my diet and if coffee can't do the job, I'm lost. I called the nurse; so I should hear back from her shortly about my lack of BMs. The only other issues I'm havin is the stabbing pain in my lower back when I get up (hubby said it was bruised). And there's a small section of my TT incision without suture tape and I'm convinced its open. Hasn't bothered me but I'll have the Doctor check it tomorrow. I have 3 small lipo sired that I've kept bacitracin on and the one abve my belly button is scanned/healing fine, but the 2 on the sids/back of my hips seem to get stuck and I have to just take care of those in the shower; so I'm worried about those healing. I haven't taken any pics except one directly after my shower last night. Love that I'm sitting with no flab hanging over. :) looking forward to future results!
4th Day Post-op
Feeling much better today. Will look forward to the day I'm strictly on Tylenol so hopefully, I can feel even more like "me" and energized. I keep seeing dust under a table or clothes on the floor and its killing me! Attempted another shower and it went much smoother. I took my time, removing my garments in the tub while sitting on my shower chair and washed up. Even washed my garment a bit and the husband used the blow dryer on it so it was toasty warm when I put it back on. It felt so good not being in the garment though...ahhh, nice big breaths...and I truly didn't think we'd squeeze my body back in that thing, but after a few hours, I'm zippe up, clean and comfy in my recliner again! :) One of my greatest discomforts is my gasiness. I've taken the 100 mg of colace twice a day and had a big glass of prune juice today...even coffee...with no results. I'm naturally irregular but coffee normally coffee helps. Oh another great benefit in my shower was the exercise elastic I hung around my neck and clipped my drain to with a clothespin-wasn't in the way at all. Well, I'm off to rest; feel quite accomplished and looking forward to an even more productive day tomorrow! I will post pics Thurs when the drain is removed! Yay! To be honest, I haven't been all that intetested in seeing myself in the mirror...just focused on getting from point A to point B! ;)
First shower-fail!
I attempted to clean myself up a bit today. I purchased a shower seat so it was fantastic not to strain, but after unzipping/unclasping my binder and removing my bra, that's was about all I could tolerate. I could remove my binder down off of my legs and assume this will work once the drain is removed but I did sponge bathe as best as possible and my husband applied bacitracin where the doctors instructed. One of the gauze pads was stuck to my right breast incision so I did not replace that one for fear of tearing something. Ugh...just no fun at all. I feel better as far as energy, but M&Ms port site for the drain is pretty horrific and despite colace, coffee, and tons of water, no BM yet. I will try MOM tomorrow.
