5 months post op

Almost 5 months post op. Not sure how I feel about my results.

I'm feeling like a new person! My swelling has greatly lessened and I'm not in constant pain. I saw my surgeon yesterday and he said that steriods could have possibly decreased my pain and inflammation. I'm very thankful to be over all of this and loving getting back to my life.
I can start lite cardio and legs! I forgot to ask about abs but I'm going to try a little and see. I can't get in a pool quite yet and still must wash in antibacterial soap and tape my incisions every other day.
I asked about massaging once more and again my surgeon said it was useless. I know when I previously posted that massaging wasn't necessary, ladies replied asking why. My surgeon said massaging is a thing of the past and has zero benefits with silicone implants today. He did tell me to work on my range of motion to loosen things up.
I'm very happy with my results so far. I am content with the size my surgeon chose because I look proportionate and still fit into all my clothes. My husband was totally against me having this surgery as he was afraid I would look "busty" and "thick." Now that my swelling has subsided, he is happy too.

I am still in pain but most of my bruising is dissipating. The raised areas under my arms are still hard and painful. I'm massaging and icing as the other surgeon instructed and I think they are becoming slightly less firm.
I'm not sleeping very well because I wake up several times in pain and very tight chested. I woke up last night with shortness of breath that just worsened throughout the day so I used my asthma inhaler. This did provide relief but I'm puzzled because I rarely have asthma. I know everyone heals differently but I'm shocked at how slow and painful my recovery has been.
I'm so tired of hurting and hoping I will soon feel better. Looking forward to getting back to my normal routine. I have 3 young children so I need to be up to par quickly. Has anyone else experienced any bad pain and shortness of breath this far out?
