Best Thing I Ever Did for Myself! - Central Valley, CA

Worth It
Spent: $0 in Central valley, California

In fourth grade, I remember praying for a training bra. I must have begged a little too earnestly, because by 5th grade I had skipped the coveted training bra stage and went from zero to C cup in less than a year. I was a DD by the time I graduated highschool and a full DDD at the time of my recent surgery, (I am now 31).

The only reason I have waited this long is because this is the first time I have had good enough insurance to cover the costs of the procedure. Where I live in California, breast reduction surgery is currently about $10,000 (and when I looked into it a decade ago it was twice as much).

My surgery was September 28th and I am now at home, having a remarkably easy recovery. I prepared myself for such a huge amount of pain that what I've actually gone through in reality seems like a cake walk. I used my pain meds only the first few days after surgery, and now the only real annoyance I have is finding a way to sleep comfortably through the night on my back.

I noticed an immediate difference in my back pain and my posture. My sister says I already look 15 pounds thinner. I am so, so happy I had this surgery. Anybody who suffers from back pain, headaches, body issues or anything else that may be related to having large breasts should not be scared to go through with this surgery. Now knowing the benefits (keep in mind I am not even a full week into recovery!) I would even to be willing to save up and pay out of pocket. It is THAT worth it.

I will try to update and add photos later.

My Doctor: Alex N. Lechtman, MD

My rating:

Dr. Lechtman is a wonderful (albeit very busy) doctor with an extremely friendly and competent staff. He has done breast reductions on two of my other friends and now me, and all three of us have had positive results.
