I recently discovered that my current plastic...

I recently discovered that my current plastic surgeon that was slated to do my TT and Arm Lift, does not have an anesthesiologist (MD) that oversees any of his surgical procedures. He uses a Certified Nurse Anesthetist. This might be fine for a simple procedure but not for a procedure that requires general sedation for 7 hours. I am personally, extremely uncomfortable with the risk that poses. So, I have been forced to find another skilled surgeon who meets the medical and safety requirements that I require.

In doing so, I was excited to discover "Dr. Joe." My initial call was to inquire about the sedation process and the schedule a consult.

I was pleased to learn that he does use a board certified anesthesiologist. ??. However, the service after that was extremely poor. I was spoken to by 'Katie' in a bit of a demeaning tone when discussing scheduling. I was left on hold for 15 minutes and had to call back in, only to be told that 'the other girl' got busy and forgot about me. (The young lady that did leave me on hold did respectfully apologize, so I am not upset with her at all)

After I called back again, 'Katie' behaved as if she was inconvenienced by my request to get in at a specific location and timeframe. I understood that they were short staffed, but I had to call multiple times, was subjected to unprofessional behavior for a surgeon that I was looking to give my hard earned money.

Now I am starting to question the ratings of these surgeons on Realself.com. I understand that it is 100% my responsibility to research each plastic surgeon. I understand that i undertake these procedures at my own risk, however, as medical service providers, I believe I deserve proper disclosure in regard to all aspects of their services and a minimum standard of respect for a potential new client that you have no idea 'who they are.'

I'll keep the site posted on how the consult with this surgeon goes.
