The cost is the cost... doesn't have anything to do with my mom being a nurse. You can call Jacobi hospital at 718-918-7200 or 5700 if that isn't the number, whoever picks up will be able to direct you to the PS department.
As far as DR is concerned... hmm IDK, I had a friend who went there and for the most part she is happy with the flatness by her scar is too damn high.
I think when it comes to plastic surgery, staying in the states is your best bet, and for 2100 you can't go wrong. I posted my pics so you can see my results first hand. As soon as my swelling goes down I know I'm going to be a happy camper.
WOW what a nice flat tummy! Congratulations :)
LOL...Girl it really does look great! And it will just keep getting better and better as the swellig goes down.
I know that you don't feel like it is flat but just look and the before and after pics :)

I have 1 daughter and 1 son ( my son is actually Canine. I've have horrible excess skin and stretch marks and I'm finally getting my tummy tuck done in NY at North Cnetral Bronx hospital for a whopping 2100 bucks. My mom is a nurse and she knows the doctor and see his work all the time, so it's a win win for me. I will be back later to post pics of befores and afters. Check out my youtube TT journey.

I am having a TT the same day as you. Mine will be in NC. I would love to stay in touch to compare notes.
My youngest child is 26. In the last year I have lost 82 pounds and most of it was in my midsection. So I have LOOSE skin and some fat still there.
Great about your mom taking care of you. I am pretty jealous about that ; )
ARe you doing all your Christmas stuff before? I have been wrapping presents and finishing up. I am even going to make some of my Christmas foods early and freeze them. My adult kids and husband are very supportive.
10 days! So exciting!
Warmly,
Gracey
thanx,leggz
I did put another video up on youtube that you all can check out, it's under my youtube screenname (simonejoan)
My TT is sceduled Dec 16th.I must say I'm very nervous but also excited, do you both feel the same?
I'm planning to get all my Christmas shopping done and the gifts wrapped before the surgery.
All the best ladies, keep us posted.
Regards,
Ladyjuk
Almost finished with my Christmas shopping, wrapping, etc. Will be baking chocolate rum cakes and a fresh coconut cake this next week. Also going to make some of my traditional Christmas dishes and freeze them. It may be a bit different. Have also given my family tasks that I usually do. I am really organized this year : ).
Now that I have heard from you ladies I am considering asking my PS about adding the breast augment and lift to my tummy tuck and lipo. Not knowing what to do about this makes me a bit nervous.
Tonight, I will be turning it over and over in my mind....
Good night,
Gracey
So we'll all be having our surgery around the same time, Excellent! We can definitely keep each other posted about our progress. I'm excited and a wee bit nervous, I'm sure the nerves will kick in the day of (I'm like that).
Anyway, I have not done much of my xmas shopping yet, because my darling husband (who will be flying to NYC to be with me) will do most of my shopping that I won't do online. I already have his xmas gifts so that's taken care of, but he'll do most of the shopping for my daughter.
Gracey- have u thought further about getting the boobies done too?
Good luck ladies, lets keep in contact. I can't wait to show my results.
Trying to get all the holiday stuff done plus preparing for surgery is a full time ++ job!
Yesterday I had my pre-op appmt. I spoke with my PS about my desire for breast aug/lift at same time. Her response was that I could get it all done at one time but that she would prefer not to do that with me. She had several reasons but the most important one was the fact that I had out of control diabetes just a year ago. I know diabetics heal slower but I thought that losing all the weight and it being in "remission" put me back to non-diabetic health. I was wrong, bummer. She also said that she plans to do quite a bit of lipo, so that also factors in. Lastly she said if I didn't also need a breast lift, she would feel differently. Bottom line, my padded, push up bra will remain my friend for a while longer. I am glad my PS is being cautious.
I was glad that they were able to use the bloodwork that I got done in September and a former EKG. No point in repeating most of them and it saves money. Everyone might want to think about that. It is always good to take a copy of recent tests/EKGs, etc on your appmts. If you ask for them your regular doctor will let you pick them up or will mail them to you.
More about my pre-op appmt:
Paid the balance for surgery and anesthia, (Certified Checks)
Got measured for my compression garmet.
PS showed me for a second time exactly what she plans to do. She advised me that I will have a wider flat scar, in order to have the best result in flattening my abdomen. We talked about my waist lipo, mons, midriff area and about avoiding "dog ears". She was great about going over everything until I really understood.
Was told to hydrate well this weekend and not to overeat/undereat.
The NP went over all my health history and wrote 4 prescriptions for me to get filled. Pain meds, muscle relaxers, antibiotics, Interesting that they prescribed Valium for me to take the night before surgery and one hour before surgery begins. I did not really know that it helps you relax, but I guess I should take it. My plans were to stay up most of the night before surgery, getting things done.
I do not have a surgery time, they will call me with that later this week.
It was a good 2 hour appmt, but I came away feeling confident that I am doing the right thing, with the right PS.
Warmly,
Gracey
I think that is wonderful she is being cautious. Better safe than sorry:) You can always get the breasts done later if you like and that is a much easier recovery.
Very exciting now on to the next step...
Warmly,
Gracey
Hey Gracey...you are not a ditz :) I don't have a video out here so you are not missing anything.
The video! So cool. I'm really looking forward to reading/seeing more.
you look amazing and of course feeling great. keep us posted
I am excited for you! That is wonderful your mom knows the doctor. That is very helpful to have that inside information. I look forward to reading your posts as you go through your process.
Hey we are excited to read about it so you blog away girl!
Love your video:)

So I finally got it done on January 7th... I'm officially 8 days post op and I'm swollen, flatter than what I was but still swollen. Please tell me how long it took for you all's swelling to go down and if you had any. I know I may be jumping the gun and being crazy, but I can' see it going down more than this. and if that's that case, then I'm worried. Did any of you go thru the swell hell too? if so, please share some words of encouragement, although I know everyone is different, but I'd like to hear something good. and yes I know i know... it's only day 8 post op.
Ladies, help me. LOL
Hi Girlie!
Hurray you are done! Ok the swelling...swell hell! You are early in the process and will have weeks to heal. You will notice that some days are worse than others but over all it will get better and better each week/month.
Just when you think it can't get any better it does! You really can't make any judgments in the first 6-8 weeks because it is just too early.
Hang on because it will get better and better by the month.
I know that it is all frustrating and unsettling but it will get better. I would say that the swelling was the absolute worst part for me.
i emailed you. so how are you feeling. I am very happy i came across another person that had it done at jacobi. i unfortunatley wasnt able to keep my consult appt in sept 10 and now its been one month trying to get an appt but they dont have any as of yet :(
my cousin had hers done at jacobi and they did a great job.
just wanted to ask you how were you feeling by your second week after your surgery? everyone is different but how was your energy level and how were you physically feeling?
As far as energy level at 2 weeks, it was good for the most part. I was out the house almost every other day and getting around pretty well. Of course my energy was not like it was pre op but it was ok at week 2. Tomorrow will be week 3 for me and I feel GREAT. I'm still pissed off about the swelling but I don't even think about it much anymore. I think it may be going down a bit. Again my video for post op week 2 is on youtube so check that out and I'll put another one up for week 4.
Take care
