Palomar Starlux 500: 1440 Skin Resurfacing Laser - Brentwood, CA
I am a HUGE fan of laser rejuvenation for the skin...

I have had the Palomar Icon 1540-XF procedure done before, to diminish fine-lines, primarily around my mouth & under my eyes. What I LOVE about Non-Ablative skin resurfacing (as it was described to me) is that it's like killing THREE birds with one stone.
First, of course the laser is resurfacing the superficial layers of the skin, diminishing fine-lines, pores, acne scars, melasma, & even stretch marks.
Second, Fractional skin resurfacing uses laser energy Micro-Beams to create areas of affected tissue that extend through the epidermis into the dermis (deepest layer of the skin). Non-ablative procedures are minimal to no downtime. The body's natural healing process creates new, healthy tissue, collagen and elastin to replace the areas of affected tissue, resulting in firm, healthy, rejuvenated, younger-looking skin
Third, you're helping to regenerate connective fibers in the skin, thus you may see slight tightening of the skin as well.
On to MY experience with the Palomar Starlux-500 1440 hand-piece,
This hand-piece is extremely similar to the 1540 in the sense that it's essentially giving you all of the same skin rejuvenating benefits, but without the prolonged amount of downtime.
I literally had this procedure done to my full-face, focusing under my eyes & around my mouth. The laser feels like very tiny hot needles entering the skin (but completely bearable) now mind you I did not apply any numbing cream prior to my treatment, but clients that are more sensitive should apply the provided numbing cream 30-40 minutes prior to treatment.
After the treatment was done, my face was like a bright red cherry tomato, and was very hot in most places, however, the heat and redness subsided within 4-6 hours for me.
Day two, my skin still had a light pink hue to it, but just looked as though I had gotten some sun- it looked healthy.
Day three, all redness was gone, and the best part about this whole experience was the compliments I was getting on how my skin looked "So healthy" "glowing" and "amazing". (Who wouldn't love to hear that??)
Now I am well aware that I will most likely need 3-4 treatments to achieve the correction that I am after, but all in all, I say this treatment is well worth it, especially considering the price I paid, so little compared to previous treatments I've had with similar or the same technology.
As with any collagen remodeling treatment, you do have to wait up to 6 months for the newly activated baby strands of collagen to fully form to adulthood, giving you that firmer/plumper appearance we're all trying to recapture, but keep in mind this procedure gives you a quick-fix as well, the resurfacing!
I've reviewed this NP before after she did my Thermage-CPT for the face & jowls. I said it before & I'll say it again, Natalie is (in my opinion) the very best at what she does. She's an artist with filler, & a genie with the laser. The picture I posted post laser treatment, she had also touched-up my lips with just a little Juvederm-Ultra XC- outstanding, and once again I got away with murder on the price. Anywhere else I quite literally would have paid close to $1,300.00, (for the 1440 treatment & Juve) I know it. P.S.- I would have given 5-stars for "Phone or Email Responsiveness" but she's always so busy, so make sure to get all of your questions answered during your appointment! -J
