I am 57 years old. After a hysterectomy at age 40, I began using HRT which caused my breasts to grow. It happened so gradually that I didn't really realize that the HRT was the culprit till my doctor told me it was an occasional side effect. I am so glad to be finished with HRT! But I am 5'4" and 135 lbs and was wearing a 34F (I guess that's equivalent to a 36DDD but I bought my bras from a European vendor). I finally took the plunge and got the surgery. My insurance did cover the cost. I am absolutely THRILLED! I wish I had done it sooner! I look 15 lbs lighter (I'm not) and can even wear those camis with built-in shelf bras at age 57!! I guess I am about a 34C now, but I think I look like a B. As for the recovery, I took Tylenol only during the first night. After that, I took nothing. I used frozen packs of peas at night for about 3 nights to soothe the discomfort. It was so worth it. I was also fortunate that I did not need tubes.

Did you look around Asheville before choosing Humphreys? I was thinking about starting with Stern, but a recommendation is always better. Also, was the $6500 your out of pocket, or the total before your portion? I have BC and am trying to figure out what my cost will be to let me husband know our out of pocket.
Thanks!
