“Very Happy - Abs and Flanks”
Spent: $7,500 in Boulder, Colorado
I think there are two keys to liposuction, knowing what to expect and finding a good doctor. You need to understand that there will be a little bit of pain involved and that you won't turn into Barbie overnight.
I decided officially to get liposuction on my abs and flanks three weeks ago but it is something I have always wanted to do in the back of my mind. I researched online as much as I could and chose my doctor based on other patient reviews and credentials The doctor I chose used both the SmartLipo and Vaser technologies and I think this is a GREAT strategy.
I knew that I would have some pain during and after the procedure but it turned out to be far less than expected. I attribute this to having a 'mind over matter' attitude as well as the careful touch of my doctor.
Day one after the procedure I am little sore and would not feel comfortable at work but I am ecstatic with the results so far.

Day 9
It’s been 9 days since my surgery and doing pretty well. I am more swollen than in the previous pictures but I know it will get better again. The pain is minimal but lasting while the tissue heals. A few days after surgery, I developed a little bit of a seroma (fluid under the skin) on my backside and believe the area was agitated two conditions: 1) the incision in that area closed very quickly and I don’t think it drained enough, and 2) sitting most of the day at work. I had it drained two days ago with a syringe and it feels fine now although a bit hollow. I’ve been told it may come back and need to be drained again. I started using a compression garment yesterday and the added support seems to be good for everything.
I remain very happy with the decision to have this procedure. My husband still doesn’t understand why had to do it but I am so happy I stood my ground. After careful consideration regarding physical condition, doctor, recovery and complications, I say go for it!
