“Botox recovery time... two weeks?!”
Botox: NOT worth it
Pain: Severe
My issue with the Botox procedure was the recovery. You’re not supposed to need recovery time... just get up and go... but mine was tedious and painful.
Coming home I felt very tired and even light-headed. This was a noted side effect because you’re having a procedure done on your head. Obviously... but I was still surprised by the severity. I don’t know how people do this and go right back to work.
I was laid up for three days with body aches, like when you have the flu. I didn’t want to move and I slept all the time. By the third day my sister called the clinic for reassurance that this was normal.
I was getting scared too because the needle holes in my head looked huge and I was getting really bad headaches, like someone was squeezing my muscles. Think of the worst tension you’ve had and then put it in your forehead. It was really horrible. I worried one night that I was having an aneurysm, I was bent over so much from the pain of it.
I improved by about the 4th or 5th day, enough to notice if it was working or not. My forehead did seem to be frozen and I couldn’t move it. With the headaches going away I figured this was my result... but I could still see the lines in my forehead. I was disappointed with that. Maybe I should have gone for Resty or something too but my doc guaranteed me the lines would fix themselves.
I’ve had my results for two weeks now and wish I hadn’t done this. Recovery was terrible, my bruises are only starting to fade now to a nice yellow color, and I can still move my forehead somewhat. Those lines never faded either. Overall, a complete disappointment.
