Botox: Stories

For years I've hated how my eyebrows make me look angry. I can't tell you how many times I've heard "what's wrong?" because of the look around my eyes.

I've hesitated having anything surgical done because it seemed so permanent...what if I didn't like it? Fortunately, my doctor suggested I try Botox to give my eyebrows a lift. So, even though I'm terrified of needles, I decided to try it...and it wasn't so bad! The injections I got were so quick and precise that I didn't have time to think about what was happening and before I knew it, it was done.

After 10 days of me staring at myself in the mirror daily, I noticed a difference but wasn't sure if it was a noticable change. Then, my husband came home after being out of town for a week and we had been talking for two minutes when he looked at me and said "wow, your eyes look great". Now, he knew I had Botox but he is not a detail person. There's no way that was first and foremost in his mind, especially when he'd been away at "hunting camp". Twenty minutes later he said "your eyes really look great".

It's now been a month and a coworker of mine just got back from vacation. We were talking for a few minutes and she said to me "you look different, your eyes really look good".

I've hesitated in the past to do anything for me because I felt guilty indulging myself, well not any more! I've always loved my eyes because they're my mom's but my eyebrows took that away. Now, thanks to my doctor and Botox when I look in the mirror, I see my mom's eyes again!
